The SKF 6018 -2RS1 single-row deep-groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 90x140x24 mm, offers effective protection against dirt and moisture.
The 6018-2RS1 deep-groove ball bearing is a versatile rolling bearing for industrial applications involving predominantly radial loads. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) in the Explorer design, this type combines a bore of 90 mm, an outside diameter of 140 mm and a width of 24 mm. The seals, which run on both sides, protect the interior from contamination. At the same time, they retain the lubricant within the bearing, thereby reducing maintenance requirements during operation.
Bearing assemblies featuring the 6018 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing can withstand high radial forces as well as moderate axial forces in both directions. Thanks to the integrated seal protection, the design is particularly suitable for operating environments subject to dust or moisture. The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly, ensuring smooth running even under continuous load within the permissible temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees.
The 2RS1 contact seal, fitted on both sides, mechanically seals the interior against dirt particles and prevents grease leakage. In addition to the standard radial bearing clearance, this bearing features increased dimensional accuracy in accordance with tolerance class P6, whilst its running accuracy complies with class PN. The tighter dimensional tolerance facilitates precise fitting onto shafts and into housings.
The main dimensions are 90 mm internal diameter, 140 mm external diameter and 24 mm width. These standardised dimensions allow for a precise replacement in existing radial bearing locations without the need to modify the surrounding components.
The designation 2RS1 refers to a sliding seal fitted on both sides. It protects the interior of the bearing from the ingress of dust, dirt and moisture. At the same time, the seal prevents the lubricant from escaping, meaning that the bearing is designed for sealed units.
The permissible operating temperature range for this design is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. This range is essentially limited by the material of the sealing lips and the lubricant. Within these limits, the roller bearing retains its mechanical running characteristics and sealing performance.
This bearing is designed with a standard radial clearance. This clearance is suitable for normal operating temperatures and standard fit conditions between the shaft and housing. It offers a balanced compromise between smooth running and play-free guidance of the rolling elements within the bearing steel.
Tolerance class P6 denotes a tighter dimensional accuracy for the mating dimensions than the standard specification. The running accuracy corresponds to standard class PN. The tighter dimensional tolerances of the bore and outer ring allow the bearing to be fitted more precisely, which improves the shaft’s concentricity in demanding applications.
The outer and inner rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. A sheet steel cage is used to guide the single-row balls. This combination of materials gives the bearing dimensional stability and load-bearing capacity under radial loads.
