The SKF 6324 /C3 single-row deep groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 120x260x55 mm and C3 clearance, is designed for demanding industrial applications.
The 6324 /C3 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial rolling bearing from SKF that accommodates radial loads as well as axial loads acting in both directions. With a bore of 120 mm, an outer diameter of 260 mm and a width of 55 mm, this model is suitable for larger industrial applications. The rings and rolling elements are made of case-hardened standard bearing steel (100Cr6). A robust sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements with minimal vibration. The open design without an integrated seal allows for flexible lubrication via oil or grease circuits.
This rolling bearing is suitable for industrial plant with combined loads and continuous operation. Thanks to its open design, friction losses are low, as there are no sliding seals to affect the rotational movement. It is recommended for use in protected bearing housings that prevent the ingress of dirt particles and moisture from the outside. Manufacture to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 ensures a precise fit. The outer ring is cylindrical in shape and has no flange or groove.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. The additional radial clearance between the balls and raceways helps to prevent seizing due to operational heating or tight fits. The permissible temperature range is from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. The increased bearing clearance provides additional operational reliability under thermal loads. For open bearings, appropriate initial lubrication must be provided before commissioning.
The dimensions are 120 mm internal diameter, 260 mm external diameter and 55 mm width. The single-row deep-groove ball bearing is suitable for withstanding high radial loads as well as axial loads acting in both directions. The outer ring has a smooth cylindrical design and features neither a flange nor a circumferential groove.
The C3 bearing has increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. If the bearing assembly heats up during operation or if tight fits cause the inner ring to expand, sufficient clearance for the balls is maintained. This prevents internal stress and ensures smooth running under thermal loads.
As the bearing is designed as an open model without integrated seals, it can be flexibly lubricated with grease or lubricating oil. The choice depends on the rotational speed, operating temperature and housing design. A regular supply of lubricant protects the raceways and balls from premature wear.
The permissible temperature range is from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. Bearing rings and balls made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), as well as the sheet steel cage, retain their dimensional stability within this range. The lubricant used must be selected to suit the specific operating temperature of the system.
A robust sheet steel cage is fitted within the bearing. This cage guides the balls evenly along the raceways, prevents the rolling elements from coming into contact with one another and is lightweight. Sheet steel cages are designed to withstand typical vibration and shock loads within the permissible temperature range.
The roller bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, which corresponds to the standard normal tolerance. This tolerance class meets the standard accuracy requirements in mechanical and plant engineering and enables a precise fit when mounted on cylindrical shafts and in matching housing bores.
