The FAG 6320-M deep-groove ball bearing, with its brass cage and dimensions of 100 x 215 x 47 mm, offers high load-carrying capacity for demanding industrial drives.
The 6320-M deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with a 100 mm bore, an outer diameter of 215 mm and a width of 47 mm. FAG manufactures this component from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. Designed as an open bearing, it is suitable for oil- or grease-lubricated applications in mechanical engineering. Lubricants reach the rolling elements and raceways unimpeded. A robust brass cage guides the balls evenly and ensures low-vibration operation under mechanical loads.
The 6320-M deep groove ball bearing is suitable for mechanically stressed bearing locations that must accommodate high radial forces as well as axial forces on both sides. Thanks to the robust brass cage, this design proves particularly effective in the presence of strong vibrations, high acceleration forces or dynamically varying speeds. The metallic cage material guides the rolling elements evenly within the raceway and withstands impact loads during operation.
The designator ‘-M’ refers to the solid brass cage, which offers a higher mechanical load-carrying capacity than standard sheet metal cages. The bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance and to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. The permissible operating temperature range is from –30 to +150 degrees. As the outer and inner rings are designed without sealing washers, protection against the ingress of dirt and the escape of lubricant is provided by the housing design of the bearing mounting.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 100 mm, an outer diameter of 215 mm and a width of 47 mm. These dimensions define its fit on the shaft and in the housing. Before fitting, it is advisable to check the mounting dimensions to prevent stress during operation.
The suffix -M indicates a solid brass cage. Brass cages offer greater stability than conventional sheet metal cages and guide the balls precisely even under vibration or shock loads. Furthermore, brass has favourable coefficients of friction, which reduces wear on the rolling elements.
As the bearing is designed without integrated cover plates or sealing washers, apply lubricants via the surrounding structure. Depending on the application, use lubricating oils or greases for this purpose. An external housing seal protects the open raceways from dirt particles and keeps the lubricant within the bearing area.
The permissible temperature range is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. The dimensionally stable rings made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and the heat-resistant brass cage enable use under higher thermal loads. Always select the lubricant to suit the actual operating temperature of the system.
The bearing has standard radial clearance. This design is suitable for standard operating conditions and typical fits encountered in everyday industrial use. The specified radial clearance ensures that the inner and outer rings can expand when heated during operation without restricting the rotation of the rolling elements.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds internationally to the ABEC 1 designation. This standard defines the permissible limit values for dimensional, form and concentricity accuracy. For most drives and gearboxes in conventional mechanical engineering, this level of precision is entirely sufficient.
