The SKF 6314 deep groove ball bearing, measuring 70x150x35 mm, provides a high-load-capacity bearing solution for predominantly radial loads in enclosed machine rooms.
The single-row deep groove ball bearing 6314 from SKF Rolling Bearings accommodates high radial forces as well as moderate axial forces in both directions. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, this bearing combines dimensional stability with low rolling resistance. Thanks to its open design without integrated sealing rings, lubricant circulates freely between the inner and outer rings. The bearing is ideally suited for integration into protected assemblies with their own lubrication circuit.
Users primarily employ the 6314 deep-groove ball bearing in industrial assemblies subject to high radial loads and within enclosed spaces. As this model is designed as an open bearing, friction remains low, which reduces thermal losses during operation. The component supports rotating shafts with a diameter of 70 mm and absorbs the radial forces generated during operation, provided that an external housing seal prevents the ingress of dirt.
The open design without sealing rings allows for a free choice of lubricant. The 6314 deep-groove ball bearing can be flexibly lubricated using oil circulation systems or targeted grease relubrication. The standard radial bearing clearance ensures smooth running at typical operating temperatures between –20 and +120 degrees. During design, care must be taken to ensure effective housing sealing so that the lubricant remains within the system.
With an internal diameter of 70 mm, an external diameter of 150 mm and a width of 35 mm, the bearing complies with standardised installation dimensions. These dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely into pre-prepared housing and shaft seats in mechanical engineering applications.
Without integrated seals, there are no additional friction losses caused by sealing lips rubbing against the housing. This design is suitable for housings that already have external sealing elements or are connected to an active lubrication system.
A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements along their path within the inner and outer rings. The sheet steel construction is designed to withstand mechanical loads and is suitable for the entire temperature range from -20 to +120 degrees.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the specified operating clearance between the rolling elements and raceways as supplied. It is designed for standard fits where there are no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings.
The design complies with the standard tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. This specification defines the permissible deviations in terms of dimensional, form and concentricity accuracy for standard industrial applications.
The component is designed for operating temperatures between -20 and +120 degrees. Within these temperature limits, the material properties of the standard rolling-bearing steel and the radial bearing clearance remain within the required specifications.
