The SKF 6300-2Z deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 10x35x11 mm, offers compact installation protection and low-friction running characteristics thanks to sheet metal covers on both sides.
The single-row deep groove ball bearing 6300 -2Z primarily accommodates radial loads and also supports axial forces in both directions. Manufactured as an SKF Explorer performance class rolling bearing, it is made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel. The cylindrical outer ring has no flange or groove. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly into the deep raceways. With standard radial clearance, this deep-groove ball bearing is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications with standard fits.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians rely on this bearing for compact assemblies and rotating shafts. Thanks to its dimensions – a 10 mm bore and a 35 mm outer diameter – it fits into narrow housings. The non-contact cover plates keep out coarse dust and dirt particles without increasing torque through abrasive contact. The roller bearing is designed for operating environments ranging from -20 to +120 degrees.
The double-sided cover with gap seals made of sheet steel protects the interior from the ingress of solid particles. At the same time, the design helps to ensure that lubricant remains inside the bearing. As the sheet metal cover plates do not rub against the contact surfaces, no additional friction losses or frictional heat are generated. This allows for use at high speeds. In clean to moderately dusty environments, this design eliminates the need for additional engineering effort to incorporate external sealing elements.
The bearing is specified with an internal diameter of 10 mm, an external diameter of 35 mm and a width of 11 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove. These standardised key dimensions enable a precise fit in standardised housing bores and on corresponding shaft seats.
The designation -2Z indicates cover discs made of pressed sheet steel fitted on both sides. These shields form a non-contacting sealing gap with the inner ring. They protect the raceways from the ingress of foreign particles without generating additional friction or frictional heat through sliding contact. The bearing is therefore suitable for high-speed applications.
Normal radial bearing clearance means that the bearing has the standard radial clearance. There is neither reduced nor increased bearing clearance, such as C3. This design is intended for standard fit selections and standard operating temperatures, where no extreme temperature differences between the inner and outer rings require an increase in operating clearance.
Both the bearing rings and the rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). A sheet steel cage is used to guide the balls. This combination of materials offers dimensional stability and load-bearing capacity within the specified operating temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees.
Manufactured to the standard tolerance P0, this roller bearing complies with the PN and ABEC 1 classifications. This standard accuracy class meets the requirements of general mechanical engineering and drive technology. It ensures smooth running provided the bearing seating surfaces on the shaft and in the housing are machined correctly.
This model does not feature electrical insulation. Should stray currents occur in electric drives, appropriate insulation measures must be taken on the housing, the shaft or by using specially electrically insulated bearing variants, in order to prevent current flow and the associated scoring damage to the raceways.
