The 627-2RSR deep-groove ball bearing from FAG Wälzlager features compact dimensions of 7x22x7 mm and seals that slide on both sides to provide protection for the bearing seats.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 627-2RSR from FAG Wälzlager primarily accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. The compact main dimensions – with a 7 mm bore, 22 mm outer diameter and 7 mm width – enable slimline designs. As the outer ring is manufactured without a flange or groove, the bearing can be fitted flush into cylindrical housings. The use of 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel for the rings and rolling elements ensures the component retains its dimensional stability. A sturdy sheet steel cage guides the balls evenly along the raceways.
This single-row design is particularly suitable for slender shafts and machine components with limited installation space. The 2RSR seal, which seals on both sides, protects the raceways against the ingress of dirt and moisture and retains the lubricant inside the bearing. The component is designed for a temperature range of –20 to +100 degrees Celsius. The absence of electrical insulation makes the bearing ideal for standard applications in general mechanical engineering.
The sliding seal fits elastically against the inner ring shoulders and seals the interior on both sides. This eliminates the need for external sealing elements in the housing cover. The bearing has a standard radial clearance and a tolerance class of P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. With standard fits, this ensures a balanced operating clearance without excessive preload at normal operating temperatures.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 7 mm, an outside diameter of 22 mm and a width of 7 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised 627 series. The outer ring has no flange or ring groove, meaning the component can be fitted directly into a cylindrical housing bore.
The designation 2RSR denotes sliding contact seals made of elastic material, fitted on both sides. The sealing lips come into contact with the inner ring of the bearing and protect the rolling elements from the ingress of foreign matter such as dust or moisture. At the same time, they retain the lubricant applied at the factory inside the bearing.
The standard radial bearing clearance, often referred to as tolerance class CN, describes the radial clearance between the outer ring, inner ring and rolling elements prior to installation. This clearance is suitable for standard shaft and housing fits at normal operating temperatures, without the need for additional provisions to account for thermal expansion.
The component is designed for use within a temperature range of -20 to +100 degrees Celsius. Within this temperature range, the sealing lips retain their sealing effectiveness and the standard rolling-bearing steel 100Cr6 retains its mechanical strength.
The inner ring, the outer ring and the rolling elements are all made of standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6). The ball cage is made from sheet steel, which combines low weight with mechanical stability and maintains the rolling elements at a constant distance.
