The SKF 6216-2Z deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with an 80 mm bore, a 140 mm outer diameter and cover plates on both sides.
The 6216-2Z deep groove ball bearing belongs to SKF’s Explorer performance class and is designed primarily to withstand radial loads as well as moderate axial forces in both directions. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel, this unit has a width of 26 mm. With its standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), this single-row bearing complies with current standards for demanding industrial drives and general shaft mountings in mechanical engineering.
Design engineers use this rolling bearing in rotating systems with continuous rotational movements and defined load conditions. The combination of an 80 mm shaft diameter and a guided sheet steel cage is suitable for continuous rotational speeds under radial loads. As there are no flanges or grooves on the cylindrical outer ring, the component can be fitted directly into precisely prepared housing bores, which facilitates integration into existing designs.
The suffix -2Z denotes cover plates made from pressed sheet steel fitted on both sides. These non-contact gap covers protect the interior from the ingress of coarse dirt particles and help to reduce lubricant loss without generating frictional heat. The permissible temperature range is from -20 to +120 degrees. As the metal discs operate without contact, the frictional torque remains low, which counteracts excessive heating at higher speeds.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 80 mm, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 26 mm. It is a single-row radial bearing with a cylindrical bore, manufactured to standard tolerance P0 (ABEC 1).
The designation -2Z refers to two non-contacting cover discs made of sheet steel, which are fitted to both sides of the outer ring. They shield the interior from coarse dirt particles and help to reduce lubricant leakage without increasing the friction torque caused by abrasive contact.
The standard radial bearing clearance refers to the factory-set internal clearance between the inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements when the bearing is unloaded. It is suitable for installation situations with standard fit conditions and where there are no significant temperature differences between the rotating shaft and the housing.
The permissible operating range for this version is from -20 to +120 degrees. Within these temperature limits, both the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel used and the guided sheet steel cage retain their dimensional stability and mechanical load-bearing capacity.
The inner and outer rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). The balls are guided by a cage made of pressed sheet steel, which combines low weight with mechanical stability.
