The SKF 6215 deep groove ball bearing is an open rolling bearing measuring 75 × 130 × 25 mm, designed to accommodate radial and axial forces.
As a single-row ball bearing, the SKF 6215 deep groove ball bearing accommodates radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel, this component is characterised by its dimensional stability and load-carrying capacity in mechanical engineering applications. With an inside diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm, it complies with common standard dimensions. The guided sheet steel cage keeps the rolling elements spaced apart and ensures smooth running.
This single-row rolling bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements subject to combined radial and axial loads on a 75 mm shaft. As the design is open at both ends, the bearing is operated in protected installation spaces with existing oil or grease lubrication and external housing seals. The specified temperature range extends from –20 to +120 degrees Celsius and covers standard thermal operating conditions in industrial environments.
The component features standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, meaning it is designed for standard fits. The outer ring has no flange or groove and sits flush with the housing bore. Without integrated sealing washers, lubricant reaches the raceways and rolling elements unimpeded, with the lubricant being appropriately matched to the specified temperature range.
The 6215 deep-groove ball bearing has an inner diameter of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm. These dimensions comply with standardised specifications. They enable a precise fit when installed on suitable 75 mm shafts and in cylindrical housing bores in industrial mechanical engineering.
An open bearing is supplied ex-works without either a cover or a sealing ring. This allows lubricant from a central oil circuit or gearbox to reach the rolling elements and raceways unhindered. To ensure this, the bearing must be protected against the ingress of dust, moisture and dirt by means of housing covers or external sealing rings.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the factory-set radial clearance when the bearing is in its unmounted state, which is matched to standard shaft and housing fits. At standard operating temperatures, sufficient operating clearance is maintained to prevent excessive stress between the inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements.
The permissible temperature range for this bearing is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. Within these limits, both the standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6) and the sheet steel cage retain their mechanical strength and dimensional stability. The lubricant selected must be suitable for this range.
The sheet steel cage guides the balls evenly along the pitch circle and prevents the rolling elements from coming into contact with one another. This reduces friction losses and noise. At the same time, the sheet steel cage is characterised by its low weight and good resistance to common lubricants.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 (also known as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1). This is the standard accuracy class for industrial applications. It defines the permissible deviations in dimensions, shape and running characteristics to ensure a precise fit in the housing and on the shaft.
