The FAG 6010 -2Z-C3 deep-groove ball bearing, with a 50 mm bore, non-contacting end shields and increased C3 bearing clearance, offers a high level of operational reliability under thermal loads.
The 6010 -2Z-C3 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing made from standard rolling bearing steel 100Cr6, with dimensions of 50x80x16 mm. This FAG bearing primarily accommodates radial forces as well as axial forces in both directions. Thanks to its robust sheet steel cage and flangeless outer ring, the component can be easily integrated into cylindrical housing bores. It is suitable for demanding industrial applications within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
Rotating shafts with a diameter of 50 mm require precise guidance combined with low friction. The 6010 -2Z-C3 deep groove ball bearing is primarily used in general mechanical engineering, as well as in gearboxes and drive systems. Thanks to the non-contact lip seals (2Z), the interior remains protected from coarse contaminants without any significant friction losses. The design is intended for medium to high speeds and has proven its worth in continuously operating systems.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This means that the rolling elements have slightly more radial play when the bearing is unmounted. This version is specifically used when temperature differences between the inner and outer rings are to be expected during operation. If the shaft heats up more than the surrounding housing, the inner ring expands. The increased bearing clearance counteracts the bearing becoming jammed and promotes smooth, even running.
With an internal diameter of 50 mm, an external diameter of 80 mm and a width of 16 mm, this component is suitable for 50 mm shafts in housing bores with an 80 mm seat. The outer ring has a smooth finish, i.e. without a shoulder or ring groove.
Cover plates made of profiled sheet steel, fitted on both sides, form a tight sealing gap against the inner ring shoulder. They protect the interior from the ingress of dust and solid particles and keep the grease inside the bearing. As there is no sliding contact, this design does not generate any additional frictional heat.
Compared with the standard version, the C3 increases the radial bearing clearance to compensate for operational thermal expansion of the shaft or fitting allowances during installation. In drives where heat is generated, the C3 clearance prevents the rolling elements from becoming jammed and contributes to the stable operational reliability of the bearing assembly.
The component is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. These limits are determined by the lubricant used, the sheet steel cage and the material resistance of the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. For applications outside this range, special high- or low-temperature versions are required.
Manufactured to standard tolerance class P0, this version complies with standard tolerance PN and ABEC 1. This accuracy class meets the usual requirements in general mechanical engineering. It ensures reliable concentricity when the bearing seats on the shaft and housing are precisely machined to fit.
The inner and outer rings, as well as the rolling elements, are made of hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. This material is characterised by high fatigue strength, hardness and dimensional stability. The balls are guided by a dimensionally stable cage made of pressed sheet steel, whilst the end plates on both sides are also made of profiled sheet metal.
