FAG single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6010 -C3 with a 50 mm bore, 80 mm outer diameter and increased C3 bearing clearance for industrial applications subject to thermal stress.
The 6010-C3 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row radial ball bearing to standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). Manufactured from 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel, this design primarily accommodates radial loads as well as moderate axial forces in both directions. The open design, without integrated sealing washers, allows for direct lubricant supply within the system and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This rolling bearing is primarily used in enclosed assemblies where the lubrication circuit is provided via the surrounding housing. The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements precisely within the raceway at constant speeds. This design is suitable for machinery and shaft bearings where regular maintenance intervals are scheduled or where external oil lubrication ensures a continuous supply.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. You should select this variant if temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation. Heat causes the inner ring to expand more, which could lead to stress if standard clearance were used. Tight fits on the shaft or in the housing also reduce the operating clearance, so the C3 version helps to prevent the rolling elements from jamming.
The bearing has an inner bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 80 mm and a width of 16 mm. It is a standardised size without a mounting flange or retaining groove on the cylindrical outer ring.
The suffix C3 indicates an increased radial clearance when the bearing is unmounted. This increased clearance compensates for thermal expansion during operation and fit allowances, ensuring that the bearing rotates freely and smoothly under load.
The open design, without cover or sealing washers, allows unobstructed access for external lubricants such as oil or housing grease. It enables low friction coefficients, but requires a clean installation environment or external housing seals to prevent the ingress of dirt.
The inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). The cage is stamped from sheet steel. This combination of materials ensures high dimensional stability and is suitable for ambient temperatures between –30 and +120 degrees Celsius.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance P0, which corresponds to class PN as per the ISO standard and ABEC 1. This precision grade meets the standard accuracy requirements for general mechanical engineering and standard industrial applications.
