The FAG 6003-2z deep-groove ball bearing, with covers on both sides, offers protection against dirt particles and has an outside diameter of 35 mm and a width of 10 mm.
The 6003-2z deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing from FAG, manufactured from standard rolling bearing steel. This design primarily accommodates radial loads and guides shafts with a cylindrical fit with precision. The double-sided shields ensure that the grease filling remains inside the bearing, whilst preventing solid particles from entering the raceway. Thanks to its compact dimensions – with an outer diameter of 35 mm and a width of 10 mm – the component is suitable for space-saving designs in both repair and series production.
The bearing is designed for rotating shafts and axles subjected primarily to radial loads and low axial forces in both directions. Thanks to the guided sheet steel cage and the standard radial clearance, the unit runs smoothly under standard operating conditions. Specialists use this component equally for upcoming repairs and for new designs with limited installation space.
The cover plates seal off the interior of the rolling elements on both sides without contact, which minimises additional frictional heat and keeps out coarse contaminants. Re-lubrication is not required during normal operation, as the roller bearing is filled with grease. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 °C. During assembly, it is recommended to press the bearing in using a suitable ring to avoid impacts on the sheet metal discs.
The single-row radial deep-groove ball bearing from FAG is made of standard rolling-element bearing steel with a cylindrical bore, an outer diameter of 35 mm and a width of 10 mm. The design features a robust sheet steel cage and seals on both ends, and is capable of withstanding radial forces as well as light axial loads in both directions.
Sheet metal gap seals on both sides prevent coarse dust and dirt particles from entering the raceways of the rolling elements. At the same time, they keep the lubricant inside the bearing. As the sealing elements operate without contact, they generate hardly any additional frictional heat compared with sliding seals.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the defined radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways in their initial state prior to installation. This design is tailored to standard shaft and housing fits, ensuring that the rings can roll freely at normal operating temperatures.
The approved operating temperature range is between -30 and +120 °C. Within these limits, the roller bearing steel, the sheet steel cage and the factory-applied grease remain dimensionally stable and fully functional. For applications above 120 °C, however, heat-stabilised special bearings are required.
Thanks to the cover plates on both sides and the initial greasing, the bearing is designed for low-maintenance operation under normal conditions. There is no provision for subsequent relubrication. To ensure it continues to function correctly, the installation environment should be kept clean and protected from direct exposure to moisture.
