The FAG 6032 -M-C3 deep groove ball bearing, measuring 160 x 240 x 38 mm and featuring a brass cage, provides an open bearing solution for thermally demanding industrial applications.
This single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6032 -M-C3 is designed as an open bearing without integrated sealing washers. It primarily accommodates radial loads as well as axial forces in both directions. The combination of a robust brass cage and tolerance class P0/PN ensures smooth running of heavy shafts in machine designs. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel (100Cr6), this design covers a wide operating temperature range from -30 to +200 degrees.
Due to its bore diameter of 160 mm, this design is used in heavy machinery, heavy-duty gearboxes and industrial drive units. The open design allows for continuous lubrication via the operational oil or grease circuit. Thanks to the brass cage, the assembly is particularly suitable for systems subject to higher levels of vibration or thermal stress. It is typically fitted where external sealing of the housing is already in place.
The designation C3 indicates an increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. If the shaft and inner bearing ring expand during operation due to temperature changes, this additional radial clearance helps to prevent the rolling elements from becoming stressed. Together with the solid brass cage, the guidance of the balls remains stable even during rapid load changes. Designers specifically choose this configuration in cases of thermal expansion or tight fits on the shaft.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 160 mm, an outside diameter of 240 mm and a width of 38 mm. The cylindrical outer ring has no groove or flange. It is a single-row radial ball bearing to standard tolerance P0/PN.
The letter M stands for a solid brass cage, which guides the rolling elements precisely and remains thermally stable. C3 denotes a radial clearance that is slightly greater than in the standard version, which compensates for thermal expansion during operation.
Open roller bearings have neither cover plates nor sealing plates. They allow lubricating oil or grease to flow freely directly from the surrounding housing. This design requires an external seal in the housing cover to prevent the ingress of dirt particles.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +200 degrees. Both the rolling elements and the rings are made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, which ensures that the bearing clearance is maintained even at higher ambient temperatures.
The dimensional and running accuracy complies with the standard tolerance P0 or PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification in the US. This precision class is the standard for general mechanical engineering and large-scale industrial drives.
