The SKF 62302 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing has compact dimensions of 15x42x17 mm and offers protection against dirt and moisture on both sides.
The 62302 -2RS1 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) for radial and axial loads. Fitted with seals that rub against the raceways on both sides, this design keeps contaminants out of the raceways and retains the lubricant inside the bearing. With a bore of 15 mm, an outside diameter of 42 mm and an extended width of 17 mm, the SKF bearing is suitable for compact shaft mountings in mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing.
This radial deep-groove ball bearing is primarily used where moderate loads act on rotating shafts and the installation space allows for additional volume in terms of width. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering and in drive technology for compact shaft arrangements. As the sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements and the component is designed for a temperature range of –20 to +120 degrees, it is suitable for demanding operating environments.
The seal designation 2RS1 refers to two contacting seal discs that bear against the inner ring on both sides. This design protects the interior of the bearing from dust, dirt particles and splash water. Thanks to the standard radial bearing clearance and manufacture to tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), the component can be fitted with precision. Because the seal lips make a sliding contact, there is slightly higher friction compared to open designs, which effectively reduces lubricant leakage.
With an internal diameter of 15 mm, an external diameter of 42 mm and a width of 17 mm, the bearing features a wider design. Compared with narrower standard bearings, this design provides more space for the internal lubricant volume.
The designation 2RS1 indicates double-sided, contacting sealing rings. The sealing lips rub against the inner ring, protecting the raceways from the ingress of moisture and dust particles whilst retaining the lubricant within the bearing.
The ball bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance. This radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways is designed for standard operating conditions where there are no extreme thermal expansions or unusual fit conditions.
The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius. This range covers the thermal limits of the bearing steel components and the elastic sliding seals under industrial operating conditions.
The rings and balls are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. The rolling elements are guided by a sheet steel cage, which keeps the balls spaced apart and ensures smooth running.
Classification in tolerance class P0 (corresponding to ABEC 1) defines the standard tolerance in roller bearing manufacture. It specifies limit values for dimensional and running accuracy which meet the standard requirements of general mechanical engineering.
