The FAG 16007 deep-groove ball bearing, with dimensions of 35 × 62 × 9 mm, offers a particularly space-saving solution for rotating shafts.
The 16007 deep groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing from FAG characterised by its narrow design, measuring just 9 mm in width. This open radial bearing primarily accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial loads in both directions. The rings and rolling elements are made from standard bearing steel 100Cr6. Thanks to its manufacture to standard tolerance P0/PN, this design is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications and repair projects where radial and axial installation space is limited.
Design engineers prefer to use this narrow bearing where there is limited axial installation space. Typical applications can be found in general mechanical engineering and in drive technology assemblies with compact mounting dimensions. Thanks to the cylindrical outer ring without a flange or groove, the component can be easily fitted into cylindrical housing bores. As the bearing is open at both ends, it can be integrated directly into existing oil or lubrication circuits.
The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements with low friction and contributes to even load distribution. The open design allows the selected lubricant to circulate freely, but requires a clean installation environment or external housing seals to protect against dirt particles. With the standard radial bearing clearance, the component is suitable for typical operating conditions. The permissible temperature range extends from –20 to +150 degrees Celsius, ensuring that the bearing retains its dimensional stability even under thermal stress.
With an internal diameter of 35 mm, an external diameter of 62 mm and a width of 9 mm, this model is one of the particularly narrow designs. The rings and rolling elements are made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. The outer ring has a smooth cylindrical surface without a flange or retaining groove.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements when the bearing is in its unassembled state. This value is suitable for standard fit conditions and average operating temperatures, without causing any undesirable stresses during operation.
Without integrated sealing or cover rings, the lubricant – such as gear oil or grease – can reach the raceways unhindered. From a design perspective, care must be taken to ensure that external housing seals protect the bearing from dirt and moisture.
The operating temperature range is from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. The sheet steel cage and the roller bearing steel are designed to withstand these thermal loads, provided that the lubricant used is suitable for the respective operating temperature.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0 (corresponding to PN according to DIN and ABEC 1). This classification meets the standard accuracy requirements of general mechanical engineering with regard to dimensional stability, axial runout and roundness for the shaft and housing seat.
