The SKF 6326 M/C3 single-row deep groove ball bearing, with a 130 mm bore, brass cage and C3 clearance, offers high thermal and mechanical reserves.
The single-row deep-groove ball bearing 6326 M/C3 is one of the most versatile radial bearings for heavy-duty industrial applications. As it is designed as an open bearing, the lubricant reaches the rolling elements and raceways unimpeded. The rings and balls are made from standard rolling-element bearing steel 100Cr6. Thanks to the solid brass cage, this rolling bearing keeps the balls on track even under vibrations or acceleration forces. The tolerance class corresponds to P0/PN or ABEC 1.
This roller bearing is particularly suitable for bearing locations subject to combined radial and axial loads, as well as increased vibration requirements. As the bearing has an open design, it connects directly to the existing oil or grease circulation lubrication systems within the machine housing. The component covers an operating temperature range of -20 to +150 degrees Celsius and is designed for applications with corresponding thermal loads.
The combination of the designation letter ‘M’ and the ‘C3’ suffix provides functional reserves for demanding operating conditions. The solid brass cage is characterised by high strength and good emergency running properties in the event of insufficient lubrication. The slightly increased radial clearance (C3) compensates for dimensional changes when the inner ring expands more than the outer ring due to heating. This ensures that the required operating clearance is maintained even under thermal stress and helps to prevent the rolling elements from seizing.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 130 mm, an outside diameter of 280 mm and a width of 58 mm. The cylindrical outer ring has no flange or groove. In the design, these installation dimensions are decisive for the fits on the shaft and housing.
The letter M denotes a solid brass cage. A brass cage withstands mechanical stress, shock loads and vibrations with great stability. It guides the rolling elements precisely along the raceway, even under demanding conditions.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This increased clearance between the balls and raceways is required when tight fits cause the bearing rings to expand, or when temperature differences occur between the inner and outer rings during operation.
As this model does not have any integrated cover plates or sealing discs, it is not supplied with a grease fill as standard. Lubrication is provided externally via the surrounding unit, for example through a centralised oil lubrication system or by regularly re-greasing via the housing system.
The bearing is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -20 to +150 degrees Celsius. Both the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the brass cage retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range. For the actual application, the temperature resistance of the selected lubricant must also be taken into account.
The bearing is manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0, also known as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1. This accuracy class fully meets the requirements of most industrial applications in terms of concentricity and dimensional accuracy.
