The FAG 6003-2RSR deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 17x35x10 mm, offers compact protection against dirt and moisture thanks to lip seals on both sides.
This single-row deep groove ball bearing 6003 -2RSR from FAG Rolling Bearings is suitable for withstanding radial forces as well as axial loads in both directions. Manufactured from standard rolling-bearing steel 100Cr6, the design is characterised by high dimensional stability. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements in the deep raceways. With standard radial clearance and tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), this design meets the common requirements of mechanical engineering.
Design engineers and maintenance technicians frequently use this size in compact rotating components. Typical applications include compact drives, shaft mountings or power units where the shaft has a diameter of 17 mm. As the roller bearing is sealed on both sides, it is suitable for environments exposed to dust or moisture. It remains sealed during operation and is suitable for applications involving uniform rotational movement.
The suffix 2RSR denotes two contacting elastomer sealing lips that bear against the bearing inner ring. This seal, which makes contact on both sides, protects the interior of the bearing against the ingress of solid particles and splash water. At the same time, the seal prevents the lubricant from escaping. Designs featuring this seal type are suitable for a temperature range of -20 to +100 degrees Celsius. Additional external sealing elements are not usually required at the bearing seat.
With an internal diameter of 17 mm, an external diameter of 35 mm and a width of 10 mm, the bearing complies with standard dimensions. The outer ring is cylindrical in design and has neither a flange nor a ring groove. This facilitates the direct replacement of compatible components of the same size during maintenance work.
The designation 2RSR refers to abiding seals fitted on both sides, which make an elastic contact with the inner ring. They provide protection against dirt particles and splash water. At the same time, the sealing elements keep the grease inside, but due to their contact with the inner ring, they generate a slightly higher rotational resistance than non-contact cover plates.
This model is designed with standard radial bearing clearance. This design is suitable for normal operating conditions and standard shaft and housing fits. It serves to compensate for temperature-induced dimensional changes during normal operation without causing stress in the components.
The permissible operating range is from -20 to +100 degrees Celsius. This range is determined by the seal material and the lubricant used. Within this temperature range, the protective function of the sliding seal lips is maintained.
Both the bearing rings and the rolling elements are made from through-hardened standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6. This material is designed to offer high dimensional stability and fatigue strength under dynamic loads. The integrated cage is stamped from sheet steel and guides the balls at a defined spacing.
This classification defines the standard accuracy for dimensional, form and runout tolerances. It ensures that the component meets the requirements of general mechanical engineering and can be fitted precisely into bearing seats and housings manufactured in accordance with the relevant standards.
