The FAG 626-2RSR deep-groove ball bearing is a miniature bearing sealed on both sides, with compact dimensions of 6 × 19 × 6 mm, designed for a wide range of industrial applications.
This design is a single-row rolling bearing with a bore diameter of 6 mm, an outside diameter of 19 mm and a width of 6 mm. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel, this design primarily accommodates radial forces as well as light axial loads in both directions. A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along the raceway. Thanks to the double-sided sealing, the lubricant remains inside whilst dirt particles and moisture are kept out.
The 626-2RSR deep groove ball bearing is particularly suitable for compact installations with predominantly radial loads, where contaminants could impair operation. The double-sided contact seal shields the interior from particles and splash water. With a permissible temperature range of –20 to +100 degrees, the bearing meets the requirements of numerous industrial operating conditions in mechanical engineering and precision assemblies.
The 2RSR design features abiding sealing lips fitted on both sides, which bear directly against the inner ring and shield the bearing’s interior against the ingress of dust and moisture. At the same time, the lip seal prevents the factory-applied lubricant from escaping. In combination with the standard radial bearing clearance and tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), this provides a sealed bearing arrangement without the need for relubrication during operation.
This miniature deep-groove ball bearing has an inside diameter of 6 mm, an outside diameter of 19 mm and a width of 6 mm. The outer ring is cylindrical, with no flange or ring groove. This ensures that the component fits precisely into standardised housing bores and onto corresponding shafts in compact assemblies.
The designation 2RSR, as used by the manufacturer FAG, refers to sliding contact seals fitted on both sides. The elastic sealing lips rest against the inner ring and protect the interior of the bearing from solid particles and splash water. They also retain the grease within the bearing, meaning that no lubricant needs to be topped up during operation.
The model has a standard radial bearing clearance. This value describes the factory-set radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is unmounted. With standard fits and at normal operating temperatures, this standard clearance ensures smooth running and even load distribution without thermal stress.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +100 degrees Celsius. This range is primarily determined by the interaction between the 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel and the elastomeric sealing washers. Within this range, the sealing material retains its elasticity and protective function under typical industrial operating conditions.
Both the rings and the balls are made of through-hardened standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which ensures high load-carrying capacity and dimensional stability. The ball row is guided by a sturdy cage made of pressed sheet steel. The bearing is designed without electrical insulation and complies with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
Whilst open bearings offer no protection against contact and 2Z cover plates merely form non-contacting gaps, 2RSR sealing lips mechanically seal off the internal space. They offer effective protection against fine particles and moisture; however, due to the sliding contact, they generate slightly more friction than non-contact variants.
