The SKF 61803 single-row deep groove ball bearing features compact dimensions of 17 × 26 × 5 mm, making it ideal for space-saving designs subject to radial loads.
The 61803 deep groove ball bearing is one of the particularly narrow rolling bearings designed for applications with very limited installation space. With a bore of 17 mm, an outside diameter of 26 mm and a width of just 5 mm, this SKF component enables very slim shaft mountings. The rings and rolling elements are made from standard 100Cr6 bearing steel. As a single-row bearing, it primarily accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial forces in both directions.
Designs with very limited installation space and a small cross-section constitute the main area of application for this rolling bearing. It primarily accommodates radial forces as well as moderate axial forces when shafts need to be guided tightly. The sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly, which contributes to smooth running under normal operating conditions. The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees.
The open design does not feature integrated seals, meaning that no friction losses occur at the sealing lips during operation. The lubricant reaches the raceways and rolling elements directly from the outside, whilst the surrounding housing shields the bearing location against the ingress of particles. With tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 and standard radial clearance, the component is designed for standard cylindrical fits.
This roller bearing has an inside diameter of 17 mm, an outside diameter of 26 mm and a width of 5 mm. Thanks to its small cross-section, this design is suitable for space-saving constructions where conventional bearing cross-sections would take up too much space.
An open bearing has neither cover plates nor contact seals as standard. The interior is exposed, allowing lubricants to be supplied from the outside. As there is no frictional resistance caused by sealing elements inside the bearing, the bearing housing should be protected from dirt by the surrounding structure.
Both the rings and the balls are made from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel. This material offers high strength and dimensional stability for the contact zones of the rolling elements. A sheet steel cage is used to guide the balls.
Tolerance class P0 corresponds to accuracy class PN or ABEC 1. It defines the permissible dimensional and runout tolerances for the inner and outer rings. For general industrial applications and cylindrical shafts, this tolerance class offers an appropriate level of guidance accuracy.
The model has the standard radial bearing clearance. This value describes the manufacturing-related radial clearance between the rolling elements and the raceways prior to installation. The design is optimised for standard fits and typical operating temperatures to ensure the rolling elements run freely during operation.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 degrees. Within this range, the microstructure of the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the sheet steel cage remain dimensionally stable. Lubricants must be selected to suit the respective operating temperature of the bearing location.
