The FAG 6216-2Z deep-groove ball bearing is designed for shafts with a diameter of 80 mm and protects the raceway on both sides against coarse dirt particles.
The 6216-2Z deep-groove ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing manufactured by FAG, designed primarily to accommodate radial forces. Thanks to its deep raceways, this bearing can also transmit moderate axial loads in both directions. With key dimensions of an 80 mm bore, a 140 mm outer diameter and a width of 26 mm, the component is used in industrial powertrains and machine designs. The design complies with the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
This rolling bearing primarily accommodates radial forces as well as axial forces in both directions. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly into the deep grooves of the hardened steel rings. As the outer ring is manufactured without a flange or groove, the cylindrical ring can be fitted directly into smooth housing bores. The 100Cr6 material provides the components with the necessary dimensional stability during continuous rotational movement.
Two non-contact gap seals made from profiled sheet metal characterise the version with the suffix -2Z. These cover plates shield the interior of the bearing from solids and dirt without causing friction or additional heating at the inner ring. In conjunction with the standard radial bearing clearance, the bearing is suitable for common mounting fits without extreme temperature differences between the shaft and the housing. The defined operating range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius covers typical thermal requirements in industrial environments.
With an internal diameter of 80 mm, an external diameter of 140 mm and a width of 26 mm, the component complies with standardised dimensions. The single-row bearing therefore fits into cylindrical housing bores and onto shaft seats with a diameter of 80 mm.
Metal cover plates fitted on both sides form a non-contact gap seal against the outer surface of the inner ring. They prevent solid foreign particles from entering and reduce lubricant leakage without generating additional frictional heat at a sealing lip.
Designed for normal operating conditions, the bearing clearance provides a defined range of movement for standard tolerance fits between the shaft and housing. At normal operating temperatures, sufficient radial clearance remains when the bearing is fitted to prevent stress build-up in the rolling elements.
The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. Rings and rolling elements made from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), as well as the sheet steel cage, retain their dimensional stability and microstructural properties within this range.
Hardened standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) is used for the outer ring, inner ring and rolling elements. A dimensionally stable cage made of sheet steel, which is resistant to standard lubricants, is used to guide and space the balls.
