The SKF NJ313 ECP/C3 single-row cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 65 × 140 × 33 mm, with a support bearing function and C3 clearance, offers high radial load-carrying capacity under thermal linear expansion.
The SKF NJ313 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is an open, single-row roller bearing with a bore of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 33 mm. Designed as a support bearing, this design accommodates high radial loads as well as axial forces from one direction. Thanks to the optimised internal design and the inner ring, which can be removed from one side, assembly can be carried out flexibly and in separate stages.
This support bearing is primarily used where heavy radial forces are present and, at the same time, single-sided axial fixation of the shaft is required. As the inner ring has a fixed flange, the design allows for axial displacement in the opposite direction. This compensates for temperature-induced changes in the shaft’s length. Typical applications include bearing arrangements where high rigidity, axial length compensation and separate installation of the inner and outer rings are required.
When designing your bearing arrangement, the cage material and bearing clearance have a significant influence on operational behaviour. The polyamide cage is characterised by low friction and low weight, which promotes smooth running. The design is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees. The increased radial clearance (C3) helps to ensure that sufficient operating clearance is maintained even when the bearing heats up during operation or where tight fits have been specified. As this is an open bearing, external lubrication is required to ensure proper function.
An NJ-type cylindrical roller bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables it to withstand very high radial loads and provide axial support to the shaft in one direction. In the opposite direction, this design allows for axial displacement to compensate for thermal expansion.
The bearing has an inner diameter of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 33 mm. The inner ring can be removed from one side. This makes installation easier, as you can fit the inner and outer rings separately onto the shaft and housing.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard clearance. This additional clearance between the rollers and raceways serves to compensate for thermal expansion of the shaft or housing during operation. Furthermore, the required operating clearance is maintained even with fixed fits.
The abbreviation ECP refers to an optimised internal design for increased load-bearing capacity, as well as a polyamide cage. The polyamide cage is characterised by smooth running and low friction. It is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
As this bearing is designed without integrated seals and without a lubrication bore in the outer ring, grease or oil is supplied via the surrounding housing structure. External sealing elements protect the rolling element set from contaminants and retain the lubricant at the bearing location.
The bearing combines dimensional accuracy in tolerance class P0 or standard tolerance according to ABEC 1 with enhanced running accuracy in accordance with P6 or ABEC 3. This design ensures low-vibration concentricity during operation and provides defined mounting dimensions for precise fitting onto the shaft.
