The SKF NUP217 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, a fixed bearing with an 85 mm bore and an outer diameter of 150 mm, provides reliable guidance under high radial loads.
The NUP217 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing in the SKF Explorer design with an optimised internal structure. Fitted with a lightweight polyamide cage, this open roller bearing handles heavy radial forces and, thanks to its special flange design, simultaneously accommodates axial forces in both directions. The combination of P0 dimensional accuracy and enhanced P6 running accuracy ensures precise concentricity in demanding industrial drives.
As a classic fixed bearing, this design secures the shaft axially in both directions relative to the housing. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and one loose flange disc. Designs with shafts guided on both sides utilise this type to absorb high radial forces whilst precisely defining the axial position of the rotating shaft.
The suffix ‘ECP’ denotes the optimised internal geometry in combination with a polyamide cage. This cage reduces the component weight and ensures low-friction guidance of the cylindrical rollers. This design is suitable for an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As this is an open bearing, you can select the lubricant and external housing seals to suit the specific operating environment.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing from SKF has a bore of 85 mm, an outer diameter of 150 mm and a width of 28 mm. It combines an optimised internal design with a polyamide cage and, thanks to two flanges on the outer ring and a flange and flange disc on the inner ring, functions as a fixed bearing secured on both sides.
In addition to primary radial loads, the NUP design also accommodates axial forces from both directions. Thanks to the fixed inner ring flange on one side and the loose flange disc on the other, the bearing guides rotating shafts precisely in their axial position, thereby eliminating the need for additional axial retaining bearings at the bearing location.
The bearing offers dimensional accuracy in accordance with Class P0 or ABEC 1, and finer running accuracy in accordance with Class P6 or ABEC 3. This combination ensures dimensionally stable fit dimensions whilst reducing runout error during operation, which contributes to the smooth running of modern powertrains.
The version with a polyamide cage is designed for operating temperatures between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. Within this range, the cage material retains its elastic and guiding properties. To ensure safe operation, select a lubricant whose thermal operating limits cover this range.
As an open roller bearing, this variant does not have integrated sealing washers. Depending on the application and rotational speed, the bearing is lubricated via the housing using grease or via an oil circulation system. At the same time, the outer housing design protects the interior of the bearing housing from the ingress of dirt and moisture.
Standard radial bearing clearance refers to the internal radial clearance of the rollers between the raceways in their as-supplied condition. It is designed for standard fits and operating temperatures, so that after being pressed onto the shaft and heated during operation, a reliable bearing clearance is established without any jamming.
