The N210 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager is a single-row idler bearing measuring 50x90x20 mm and offers a high radial load-carrying capacity.
As a radial roller bearing, the N210 -E-XL-TVP2 absorbs high loads whilst maintaining compact dimensions. This design is manufactured by FAG Wälzlager and features a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, the single-row bearing distributes radial loads evenly. As the outer ring has no flanges, the unit acts as a floating bearing to compensate for thermal length changes in the shaft.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements subject to purely radial loads, where longitudinal expansion of the shaft must be compensated for without constraint. In machine configurations with separate fixed and floating bearings, the N design typically operates on the floating bearing side. The polyamide cage ensures quiet running. As the bearing has an open design, it is lubricated directly via the lubrication system of the surrounding structure. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees.
The N design is characterised by two fixed flanges on the inner ring, whilst the outer ring is flangeless on both sides. This allows the outer ring to be fitted separately during assembly, which facilitates installation in enclosed housings. The polyamide cage (designation suffix TVP2) ensures low-friction roller movement and is characterised by its elasticity and low weight. The bearing is manufactured to standard tolerance P0 (ABEC 1) with standard radial clearance.
The bearing has a bore of 50 mm, an outer diameter of 90 mm and a width of 20 mm. These dimensions determine the required installation space. Before fitting, check that the shaft seat and the housing bore are designed to accommodate these dimensions.
In the N design, the inner ring guides the cylindrical rollers between two flanges, whilst the outer ring is flangeless. As a result, the bearing accommodates radial forces only and allows axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing in both directions. It therefore functions purely as a non-locating bearing.
The suffix TVP2 indicates a polyamide cage. This material reduces the weight of the roller guide and ensures smooth running with low friction. The cage is designed for this bearing’s temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
This bearing has standard radial clearance. This design is suitable for standard operating conditions where the housing and shaft have standard fits. The operating clearance is dimensioned such that thermal effects within the normal speed range do not cause distortion.
As this is an open bearing with no built-in seals, the bearing housing requires external sealing via the machine casing. Lubrication is provided by grease or lubricating oil from the machine, as the outer ring has no lubrication groove or lubrication bore of its own.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0, also known as standard tolerance PN or ABEC 1. This class defines the standardised dimensional and concentricity tolerances for standard applications in mechanical engineering and ensures precise operation during continuous industrial use.
