The FAG NU315 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row idler bearing with a 75 mm bore, designed for high radial loads at temperatures up to +150 °C.
The NU315 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with the main dimensions 75 x 160 x 37 mm (bore x outer diameter x width). As a NU-type idler bearing, it has two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless and can be removed from both sides. This design accommodates purely radial forces and compensates for axial length changes in the shaft directly within the bearing. Fitted with a brass cage and standard bearing clearance, this open bearing is suitable for demanding industrial applications.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements subject to high radial loads, where the shaft is subject to heat-induced length changes relative to the housing. Thanks to the NU design, the inner ring moves axially freely relative to the roller set. It is primarily used in shaft bearings subjected to purely radial loads. As the bearing is open at both ends, you can integrate it directly into an existing housing lubrication system using oil or grease.
The solid brass cage (suffix M1) guides the cylindrical rollers and is characterised by high strength under dynamic loads or vibrations. Compared with sheet metal cages, brass proves particularly effective under demanding operating conditions and at varying speeds. The bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 °C to +150 °C. This non-locating bearing cannot accommodate axial forces and is usually combined with a suitable locating bearing on the shaft.
This cylindrical roller bearing has an inner diameter of 75 mm, an outer diameter of 160 mm and a width across flats of 37 mm. The single-row bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. Thanks to these standardised key dimensions, the model can be fitted precisely into corresponding housing bores and onto matched shaft seats.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side. This facilitates the fitting of separate rings and permits axial movement of the shaft relative to the housing during operation without causing stress.
The permissible operating temperature range for this bearing is from -30 °C to +150 °C. Both the metal components and the brass cage are designed for this temperature range. When designing the bearing arrangement, you should ensure that the selected lubricant – grease or lubricating oil – is also approved for the temperatures encountered.
The solid brass cage, marked M1, guides the cylindrical rolling elements and maintains a constant distance between them. Brass cages offer greater strength than pressed sheet metal cages. They are particularly suitable for applications involving high acceleration, vibrations or shock loads, as they can withstand mechanical stresses during continuous operation.
As this is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, no lubricant is filled in at the factory. The rolling bearing requires external lubrication via the housing using grease or oil, as well as a separate housing seal. The outer ring has neither lubrication grooves nor lubrication holes, so the lubricant must be applied to the side of the rolling elements.
The model is designed with standard radial bearing clearance (CN class). This clearance is designed for typical fit conditions on the shaft and housing, as well as moderate temperature differences. Once fitted, there remains sufficient radial clearance between the rollers and raceways to ensure smooth running without unacceptable seizing in industrial applications.
