The SKF NU310 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing (50x110x27 mm) is a separable idler bearing with a sheet steel cage designed to withstand high radial loads.
The SKF NU310 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing with a 50 mm bore, an 110 mm outer diameter and a width of 27 mm. Thanks to its optimised internal design, this bearing can accommodate high radial loads. It is used as a loose bearing, where the inner ring can be removed from both sides. The open component features a sheet steel cage and is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
The rolling bearing accommodates purely radial forces and compensates for axial changes in the length of the shaft. The NU design allows for free axial movement of the shaft relative to the housing directly within the bearing. Typical applications are found in radially loaded bearing arrangements in mechanical engineering. As the outer ring has fixed flanges and the inner ring is flangeless, the roller bearing can be fitted separately during assembly.
In the NU310 ECJ cylindrical roller bearing, the sheet steel cage guides the cylindrical rollers evenly whilst maintaining a compact footprint. The manufacturing process combines dimensional accuracy to P0/PN (ABEC 1) with increased running accuracy to P6 (ABEC 3). This makes the bearing suitable for precisely guided shafts with normal radial clearance. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, the lubricant supply and external housing seals are selected to suit the ambient conditions.
With a bore of 50 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 27 mm, the roller bearing complies with standardised key dimensions. These dimensions enable a precise fit when installed in housings and on shafts in mechanical engineering. Before assembly, the dimensions of the surrounding structure must be checked.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed from both sides and fitted separately. During operation, the bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing, which compensates for axial length changes in the shaft directly within the component.
The open bearing is designed for an operating temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. As no elastic contact seals are fitted, the thermal load is primarily limited by the chosen lubricant and the operating environment. At high temperatures, ensure you use a grease or lubricating oil with the appropriate thermal resistance.
The cylindrical roller bearing combines dimensional accuracy in accordance with Class P0/PN or ABEC 1 with improved running accuracy in accordance with Class P6 or ABEC 3. This classification ensures smooth rotational alignment of the shaft, whilst the mounting dimensions comply with standardised fit specifications.
As the bearing is designed without a groove or lubrication bore in the outer ring and has no integrated seals, lubricant is supplied via the surrounding housing. You can operate the bearing using either oil or grease. External housing seals protect the open interior from the ingress of foreign particles.
Normal radial bearing clearance refers to the standard factory-set clearance between the cylindrical rollers and the raceways. It is dimensioned such that, following the pressing-in of the inner and outer rings, smooth running without excessive stress is ensured under normal operating conditions.
