The SKF NU310 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row non-locating bearing with a polyamide cage, designed for high radial loads with shaft diameters of 50 mm.
The SKF NU310 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, as a single-row rolling bearing, withstands high radial forces. The cylindrical rollers create a line-contact with the raceway, enabling the design to withstand high radial loads whilst providing rigid guidance. With dimensions of 50 mm bore, 110 mm outside diameter and 27 mm width, this open bearing without an integrated seal is used in industrial machinery that utilises an external lubricant supply.
This rolling bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements subject to purely radial loads, where axial changes in shaft length must be compensated for. As the inner ring of the NU design is flangeless and removable from both sides, the unit functions as a classic non-locating bearing. Typical applications include industrial shaft mountings and rotating machine units. The SKF Explorer version features an optimised internal geometry for even load distribution during operation.
The integrated polyamide cage reduces friction and noise whilst keeping the component weight low. The material design allows for an operating temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. The separable inner ring facilitates installation in cases of tight fits on the shaft or housing. In terms of manufacturing, the rolling bearing has dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1) and running accuracy to P6 (ABEC 3).
The NU design is characterised by two solid flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side and moved axially relative to the roller set. This design enables the bearing to be used as a non-locating bearing, which compensates for thermal length changes in the shaft without restriction.
With an internal diameter of 50 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 27 mm, the bearing complies with the standardised main dimensions for this series. The outer ring is manufactured without a groove or lubrication bore.
The suffix ECP denotes the combination of an optimised internal design (E) and a polyamide cage (CP). This design ensures low-friction operation of the cylindrical rollers whilst keeping the component weight low, and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This version features the standard radial bearing clearance, which is designed for typical fit conditions and standard operating conditions. Dimensional accuracy complies with the ‘Normal’ tolerance class (P0 or ABEC 1). For running accuracy, the tighter tolerance class P6 (or ABEC 3) applies, which contributes to smooth shaft guidance.
As this is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, the bearing location requires a supply of lubricant – oil or grease – from the surrounding system. Protection against dirt, moisture and lubricant loss must be provided by external seals in the housing or on the bearing covers of the connected structure.
The permissible operating temperature range specified for the cylindrical roller bearing is from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius. This limit is primarily due to the thermal properties of the polyamide cage used. When designing the bearing assembly, care must be taken to ensure that suitable lubricants are used which cover this temperature range.
