The FAG NU2226 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 130 × 230 × 64 mm, withstands high radial loads and serves as a free bearing that can be disassembled from both sides.
The NU2226 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing for industrial drivetrains subject to high radial loads. FAG manufactures this version with a bore of 130 mm, an outer diameter of 230 mm and a width of 64 mm. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and the raceway, the design can withstand high transverse forces. This version is suitable for heavy-duty shaft bearings in mechanical engineering.
This design is primarily used where high radial loads are present and axial length changes in the shaft need to be compensated for. As a floating bearing, the design accommodates thermal length expansion within the bearing. Typical applications include heavy-duty industrial gearboxes and general mechanical engineering. Thanks to its open design without seals, the bearing can be integrated directly into lubricated oil circuits or supplied with grease via the housing design.
The integrated polyamide cage, identified by the suffix TVP2, reduces the weight of the rotating components and promotes smooth running. The material dampens vibrations during operation. The permissible temperature range is between –30 and +120 degrees. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, the bearing rings can be fitted separately from one another. This simplifies installation on shaft seats that are difficult to access.
The bearing has an internal diameter of 130 mm, an external diameter of 230 mm and a width of 64 mm. With these dimensions, the unit is suitable for heavy-duty shafts in industrial machinery and can be integrated directly into custom-made housing seats.
In the NU design, the outer ring guides the rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the shaft and the inner ring to move axially relative to the outer ring. The bearing serves to compensate for operational thermal expansion of the shaft without causing stress in the drive train.
The abbreviation TVP2 denotes a polyamide window cage. This material is characterised by good elastic properties and a low weight. It contributes to the smooth running of the cylindrical rollers and is designed for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
The cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured with a standard radial clearance, which is designed for conventional fits and standard operating temperatures. The dimensional and geometric accuracy complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to the international ABEC 1 classification and ensures the necessary running accuracy for industrial applications.
As an open cylindrical roller bearing, this design allows lubricating grease or oil to pass through unhindered from the surrounding machinery. The lubricant can dissipate heat directly. Protection against dirt and moisture in this design is provided by external sealing elements in the bearing housing.
The inner ring can be completely removed from the roller set. You can fit the inner and outer rings separately onto the shaft and into the housing respectively. This simplifies assembly processes in confined spaces, as it is not necessary to apply high press-fit forces to both fits simultaneously.
