The FAG NU2210 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a separable support bearing measuring 50 × 90 × 23 mm, designed to accommodate high radial loads.
This single-row radial roller bearing accommodates substantial radial loads, as the cylindrical rollers make line contact with the raceway. As an open design without an integrated seal, the component is designed for lubricated systems. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rollers quietly and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 °C to +120 °C. Manufactured to tolerance class P0 (ABEC 1), the bearing can be integrated into standard industrial applications.
Design engineers primarily use this component where high radial loads occur and the shaft must remain axially movable relative to the housing. Typical applications include bearing arrangements where the shaft undergoes thermally induced length changes, as well as in systems subject to high transverse forces. As the outer ring has two solid flanges and the inner ring is flangeless, the bearing compensates for axial displacement directly in the rolling element region.
The NU design is characterised by an inner ring that can be removed from both sides. This allows you to mount the inner and outer rings separately onto the shaft and housing, which simplifies installation. The polyamide cage (TVP2) is characterised by its low weight and elastic properties, which reduce inertial forces during operation. When designing the system, it should be noted that open bearings should be protected against the ingress of dirt by means of an external seal on the bearing housing.
The bearing has a bore of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm. The component has standard radial bearing clearance and is manufactured to tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring is manufactured without flanges. As a result, the component functions purely as a non-locating bearing. It transmits only radial forces and allows axial displacement of the shaft relative to the bearing housing in both directions with minimal resistance.
The abbreviation TVP2 denotes a polyamide cage. This material is lightweight, elastic and reduces running noise compared with some metal cages. The material is designed for operating temperatures between -30 °C and +120 °C and is resistant to common lubricants.
As the bearing is designed without factory-fitted sealing washers, grease or lubricating oil is supplied via the housing design. The outer ring has no groove and no lubrication bore. The lubricant therefore reaches the rollers and raceways directly from the end faces.
Yes, the inner ring can be completely removed from the pre-assembled assembly comprising the outer ring, cage and rollers. This feature simplifies the separate installation of the shaft and housing. Once the rings have been pressed onto the shaft and housing separately, the components are simply slid together during assembly of the unit.
No, NU-type cylindrical roller bearings are purely radial bearings and, due to their design, cannot transmit axial forces. If combined radial and axial loads occur at the bearing location, axial guidance must be provided by a separate fixed bearing, such as a deep-groove ball bearing or a flanged cylindrical roller bearing.
