The SKF NU213 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing, with dimensions of 65x120x23 mm and a C3 clearance, provides a robust support for high radial forces.
The NU213 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row cylindrical roller bearing from SKF with an optimised internal design. With key dimensions of a 65 mm bore, 120 mm outside diameter and 23 mm width, the bearing is primarily designed to accommodate high radial loads. The open roller bearing design features an outer ring without a lubrication groove and a polyamide cage to guide the rollers. The bearing is designed for operation within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
This model typically functions as a non-locating bearing to accommodate purely radial forces. The NU design is characterised by the fact that the inner ring is flangeless and removable from both sides. As a result, the bearing compensates for axial length changes of the shaft relative to the housing without constraint within the rolling element raceway. This supports designs where operational thermal expansion occurs or where the separate assembly of the inner and outer rings simplifies work processes.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial clearance compared with the standard version. This increased clearance compensates for reduced residual clearance when tight fits or temperature differences between the inner and outer rings come into play. In combination with dimensional accuracy to P0 or ABEC 1 and running accuracy to P6 or ABEC 3, the design supports smooth rolling motion whilst allowing for flexible handling of the separable bearing.
The designation NU stands for cylindrical roller bearings with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, the component acts as a floating bearing to compensate for axial shaft displacement directly on the raceway. The separate assembly of both bearing rings also simplifies installation.
With a bore diameter of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 120 mm and a width of 23 mm, the bearing has standardised key dimensions. These dimensions enable it to be fitted precisely into housings and onto shafts designed to these dimensions.
The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard bearing. This additional clearance prevents the rolling elements from becoming jammed when press fits or operational temperature differences between the inner and outer rings reduce the operating clearance.
The code ECP refers to a lightweight polyamide cage. This cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low running noise and, thanks to its low mass, reduces inertial forces. The material is suitable for an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
In this model, the dimensional accuracy of the bore, outer diameter and width complies with tolerance classes P0/PN and ABEC 1 respectively. The running accuracy of the raceways meets the more precise class P6 and ABEC 3 respectively, ensuring precise guidance of the rotating shaft.
As there are no integrated sealing washers, the bearing housing must be sealed by the surrounding casing structure. The open design does not protect the interior from contamination, but does allow for lubrication as required using the appropriate lubricant for the application.
