The SKF NU212 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 60x110x22 mm, provides a robust support arrangement for accommodating purely radial forces.
This single-row NU212 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, part of the SKF Explorer performance class, accommodates radial forces in demanding industrial drives. Thanks to the line contact between the cylindrical rollers and the raceways, the design can handle high radial loads in continuous operation. As an open component without integrated seals, the bearing is designed for direct use in lubricated machine housings where lubricating oil or grease can circulate freely around the rolling elements.
The bearing is designed for shaft positions where only radial loads occur and axial length compensation is required. Typical applications include industrial shaft mountings with a purely radial force flow, where thermal expansion must be accommodated without inducing stress. Thanks to its design as a non-locating bearing, the inner ring moves axially relative to the roller set, meaning that no axial forces act on the bearing assembly. The optimised internal design supports smooth rolling behaviour under operating conditions.
The NU design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring is flangeless. This allows the inner ring to be removed completely from both sides, which significantly facilitates separate installation onto the shaft and housing. The integrated polyamide cage is characterised by low moving masses, dampens operating noise and keeps friction levels low. During operation, the permissible temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees and the standard radial bearing clearance must be taken into account when selecting the fit.
This design is characterised by two solid flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. As a result, the bearing functions purely as a non-locating bearing and accommodates axial changes in the shaft’s length without inducing stress. Furthermore, the inner ring can be completely withdrawn from the roller set at both ends for installation and maintenance work.
With an internal diameter of 60 mm, an external diameter of 110 mm and a width of 22 mm, the component complies with standardised dimensions. It is a single-row roller bearing without integrated sealing rings, featuring an open design to accommodate external lubrication systems within the machine housing.
At SKF, the suffix ‘ECP’ denotes an optimised internal design combined with a polyamide cage. This cage is characterised by its low weight, dampens operating noise and enables low-friction operation within the permissible temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
This NU212 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured to a dimensional accuracy of P0 or ABEC 1 and an enhanced running accuracy of class P6 or ABEC 3. This specification ensures precise shaft concentricity with conventional fit tolerances in the housing seat.
The housing design of the application ensures a continuous supply of grease or lubricating oil, as the bearing is manufactured without integrated seals. As the outer ring has no lubrication groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is fed directly into the rolling element assembly from the end face.
This design is intended to use the standard radial bearing clearance. Under normal operating conditions and with conventional fit specifications for the shaft and housing, this standard clearance ensures trouble-free operation without causing excessive preload due to operational heating.
