The NU205 -E-M1 single-row cylindrical roller bearing, with a brass cage and main dimensions of 25 × 52 × 15 mm, serves as a separable support bearing for high radial loads.
The NU205 -E-M1 cylindrical roller bearing from FAG Wälzlager is an open, single-row radial roller bearing for mechanical engineering. With a bore of 25 mm, an outside diameter of 52 mm and a width of 15 mm, this design can accommodate high radial loads. The brass cage guides the cylindrical rollers precisely and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees. The bearing complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 and has standard radial clearance for normal operating conditions.
In industrial drives and shaft guides, this design is suitable for bearing arrangements subject to purely radial loads. As the outer ring has solid flanges on both sides, whilst the inner ring is flangeless, the unit functions as a non-locating bearing. The bearing compensates for axial changes in shaft length caused by thermal effects without any forced alignment. This design is used in applications where a separate fixed bearing provides the axial guidance.
The brass cage (designation M1) guides the rolling elements reliably even in the presence of vibrations or fluctuating speeds. Furthermore, the open design without an integrated seal allows for direct lubrication via the machine’s lubrication system. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, mount the inner and outer rings separately onto the shaft and housing. An external housing seal protects the open rolling system from the ingress of dirt.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 25 mm, an outside diameter of 52 mm and a width of 15 mm. The design is engineered to withstand high radial forces whilst maintaining a compact construction. These standardised key dimensions allow for installation in standardised bearing housings and shaft seats.
The NU design denotes a non-locating bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and a flangeless inner ring. This allows the inner ring to be removed axially from either side. When the shaft expands due to thermal effects, it moves freely within the bearing without generating any axial stress.
The brass cage guides and separates the cylindrical rollers during operation. The designation M1 refers to a solid brass cage that can withstand vibrations and fluctuating rotational speeds. The cage material retains its shape even under demanding lubrication conditions and at temperatures of up to +150 degrees.
The permissible temperature range is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. The rolling elements and the brass cage are designed to withstand this temperature range. The lubrication should be tailored to the machine’s specific operating temperature.
This version is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance and complies with tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. This meets typical requirements in general mechanical engineering, provided that no increased bearing clearance or higher concentricity requirements are specified.
As an open roller bearing, this design has no integrated sealing elements. Protection against dust and moisture, as well as the retention of lubricant, are provided by the surrounding structure, for example by shaft seals, housing covers or labyrinth seals.
