The SKF NUP211 ECP cylindrical roller bearing (55x100x21 mm) is a single-row fixed bearing designed to accommodate high radial loads and provide axial guidance on both sides.
The SKF NUP211 ECP cylindrical roller bearing combines high radial load-carrying capacity with precise axial fixation of the shaft. As a single-row roller bearing with main dimensions of 55 mm bore, 100 mm outer diameter and 21 mm width, this model is used for load-bearing applications in general mechanical engineering. The Explorer-quality version features an optimised internal design, whilst the standard radial clearance is designed for many common installation scenarios. As this is an open bearing, you can flexibly select the lubricant and external sealing elements to suit your application.
This cylindrical roller bearing functions as a fixed bearing due to its flange configuration. Two fixed flanges on the outer ring, as well as one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring, guide the shaft in both axial directions. Typical applications include bearing arrangements where, in addition to high radial forces, alternating or limited axial forces are also present. The open design without sealing discs allows for free lubrication with grease or oil via the surrounding structure.
The abbreviation ECP denotes a polyamide cage which guides the rollers and, due to its low weight, reduces friction in the rolling element ring. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees. Precise running characteristics result from the optimised manufacturing process: Dimensional accuracy complies with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1, whilst running accuracy is manufactured to class P6 or ABEC 3. This ensures smooth, even rotation under standard operating conditions, provided that misalignment errors are avoided.
The bearing has a bore of 55 mm, an outer diameter of 100 mm and a width of 21 mm. The outer ring has neither a lubrication groove nor lubrication holes. Check these dimensions on the shaft and housing before fitting to ensure that the bearing fits precisely into the surrounding structure.
The NUP design denotes a cylindrical roller bearing that functions as a fixed bearing. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and one loose flange disc. As a result, the bearing not only absorbs radial forces but also locks the shaft in both axial directions relative to the housing.
The suffix ECP indicates an optimised internal design and a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by low friction and favourable emergency running properties. Furthermore, the lightweight cage reduces the inertial forces when the rolling elements start to move, which enhances the mechanical efficiency of the bearing assembly during operation.
The cylindrical roller bearing is manufactured with standard radial clearance, which is designed for typical operating and fit conditions. The dimensional accuracy complies with tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1. In terms of running accuracy, the bearing meets the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3, which contributes to smooth, low-vibration operation.
The permissible operating temperature range is between -30 and +120 degrees. This range is essentially limited by the material of the polyamide cage and the lubricant selected. As the bearing is of an open design, the lubricant must be applied separately and protected from dirt by the external housing seal.
As this is an open bearing without integrated seals, lubricant must be supplied via the bearing housing. Depending on the speed and operating conditions, you can use grease or lubricating oil. The open design makes it easier to flush through the bearing and change the lubricant during regular maintenance intervals on the machine.
