The FAG NUP206 -E-XL-TVP2 single-row cylindrical roller bearing is designed as a fixed bearing for shafts with a 30 mm bore and can accommodate high radial loads.
The NUP206 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing from FAG for industrial applications. With a bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 16 mm, this open bearing primarily withstands high radial forces. Thanks to the NUP design, the component also serves as a fixed bearing and guides rotating shafts in both axial directions. The version with standard radial clearance and manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN offers defined running characteristics for demanding applications in mechanical engineering.
Design engineers select this design when, in addition to high radial loads, axial guidance of the shaft on both sides is required. The bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This enables it to absorb axial guidance forces in alternating directions. Typical applications include industrial drives and mechanical support systems subject to combined loads. As this is an open bearing without an integrated seal, the surrounding structure must incorporate an external seal.
The integrated polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers evenly and is characterised by its low weight and elastic material properties. This promotes smooth running and reduces acceleration forces within the bearing assembly. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. When designing the system, it must be taken into account that the bearing is manufactured with a standard radial clearance. For applications with standard operating temperatures and suitable shaft seats, this design represents a technically suitable solution.
This bearing has an inner diameter of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a width of 16 mm. With these dimensions, the cylindrical roller bearing can be fitted precisely into housing bores and onto shafts with bearing seats of the corresponding tolerances, thereby enabling the defined guidance of the rotating components within the system.
The NUP design denotes a cylindrical roller bearing that functions as a fixed bearing. The outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and one loose flange disc. This design enables the bearing to guide the shaft in both axial directions and to accommodate light axial loads during operation.
The manufacturer, FAG Wälzlager, specifies an operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius for this model. The polyamide cage and the bearing components are designed for this temperature range. When selecting the lubricant, care should be taken to ensure that the grease or oil is approved for these operating temperatures.
The bearing has standard radial clearance. This factory setting is suitable for conventional installation situations without extreme temperatures or excessive press fits. Under normal operating conditions, once the bearing has been fitted onto the shaft and housing, the required operating clearance between the rolling elements and raceways is maintained, allowing the bearing to roll smoothly.
As this is an open bearing without integrated sealing washers, lubricant must be supplied via the housing design. Depending on the requirements, either greases or oils may be used. Dirt and moisture must be kept out of the bearing housing by external seals to prevent damage to the raceways.
Manufacturing is carried out in accordance with tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. This class defines the permissible dimensional and geometric tolerances for the bore, the outer diameter and flatness. For the vast majority of industrial mechanical engineering applications, this level of accuracy provides a reliable basis for dimensionally stable operation.
