The FAG NUP204 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing, a single-row fixed bearing with a 20 mm bore, provides precise guidance for combined radial and axial loads.
The NUP204 -E-XL-TVP2 cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing designed for demanding industrial applications. Compared to balls, cylindrical rollers have a larger contact area, enabling the bearing to withstand very high radial forces. In the NUP version, the roller bearing also functions as a fully-fledged fixed bearing. It guides rotating shafts precisely in both axial directions. With its compact dimensions of 20 mm inner diameter, 47 mm outer diameter and a width of 14 mm, this model is suitable for space-saving bearing arrangements.
This fixed bearing is particularly suitable for bearing locations where, in addition to high radial forces, alternating axial forces from both directions occur. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering for shaft mountings with axial fixation on both sides. The open bearing design allows for flexible lubrication via an external lubrication system. As the outer ring has no lubrication bore, grease or lubricating oil is fed directly via the end faces of the bearing rings into the working area of the rollers.
The NUP design is characterised by two fixed flanges on the outer ring, one fixed flange on the inner ring and a loose flanged disc. This design secures the shaft in the axial direction by a positive fit. The lightweight TVP2 polyamide cage guides the cylindrical rollers with low friction and ensures smooth running during operation. When designing the bearing arrangement, the permissible temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees must be taken into account. Manufacture to tolerance class P0/PN also ensures dimensional accuracy in accordance with standards for precise fits.
A single-row cylindrical roller bearing in the NUP design combines high radial load-carrying capacity with axial guidance on both sides. Thanks to its fixed flanges and a loose flange disc, the bearing functions as a fixed bearing. The TVP2 polyamide cage used guides the rolling elements with low friction and ensures smooth running.
With an internal diameter of 20 mm, an external diameter of 47 mm and a width of 14 mm, the bearing has standardised key dimensions. This geometry enables it to be fitted precisely onto suitable shafts and into housing bores in general mechanical engineering applications.
The abbreviation NUP refers to a fixed bearing. The outer ring has two fixed guide flanges, whilst the inner ring has one fixed flange and a loose flange disc. As a result, the bearing assembly absorbs axial forces from both directions and secures the shaft axially within the housing.
The permissible operating range is from -30 to +120 degrees. These temperature limits are largely determined by the dimensionally stable polyamide cage and the material of the bearing rings. When selecting a lubricant, users should ensure that it is suitable for the same temperature range.
Manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance, the bearing complies with the standard tolerance classes P0/PN or ABEC 1. This standard design meets the usual requirements for dimensional and running accuracy in industrial applications.
As an open bearing, this component has no integrated sealing washers and no lubrication channel in the outer ring. The lubricant is applied from the end face during installation or via the housing design. An external housing seal is required to protect against contamination.
