The SKF NJ308 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 40x90x23 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity and axial guidance in one direction.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing NJ308 ECP/C3 from SKF is designed for demanding industrial applications involving high radial forces. Thanks to its design as a support bearing, the construction accommodates axial displacement of the shaft in one direction. The inner ring can be removed from one side, which facilitates installation in the housing or on the shaft. As an open bearing, it can be flexibly integrated into existing lubrication systems.
The NJ308 ECP/C3 cylindrical roller bearing is primarily suitable for bearing arrangements in mechanical and plant engineering where high radial forces are present and single-sided axial support of the shaft is required. It serves as a support bearing in shaft guides with defined axial fixation. Thanks to its optimised internal design, the rolling bearing distributes the contact pressure evenly across the sets of rollers. The open design allows for targeted lubrication with oil or grease via the surrounding machine housing.
The polyamide cage (suffix ECP) is characterised by low friction and a low weight, which keeps the rolling elements stable even at varying speeds. The slightly increased radial clearance (C3) compensates for thermal expansion at operating temperatures between –30 and +120 degrees. Furthermore, the increased radial clearance compensates for any pressure caused by tight fits. With a running accuracy of class P6, this design ensures low-vibration and smooth operation.
The NJ design denotes a support bearing. The outer ring has two solid flanges, whilst the inner ring has only one flange. This allows the inner ring to be pulled out on one side, and the bearing can accommodate axial forces from one direction.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 40 mm, an outside diameter of 90 mm and a width of 23 mm. The outer ring has no lubrication groove or bore.
The suffix C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This increased clearance prevents the rolling elements from becoming stressed when temperature differences occur between the shaft and the housing during operation, or when tight fits are specified.
The cylindrical roller bearing is specified for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. Within this range, the polyamide cage retains its mechanical strength and dimensional accuracy is maintained.
The open design, which does not feature integrated sealing washers, allows integration into external lubrication systems such as oil circulation systems or grease chambers. The lubricant can reach the rollers and the polyamide cage unimpeded.
The bearing combines dimensional accuracy of class P0 or ABEC 1 with increased running accuracy of tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3. This results in precise concentricity and uniform load transfer.
