The SKF NJ2313 ECP/C3 single-row cylindrical roller bearing (65x140x48 mm) accommodates high radial forces and unilateral axial loads with a slightly increased bearing clearance.
This open cylindrical roller bearing NJ2313 ECP/C3 from SKF is designed as a support bearing for high mechanical loads. Due to the line contact of the rollers, the bearing primarily transmits high radial forces. With a bore of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 48 mm, the component complies with standardised mounting dimensions. The inner ring is removable from one side, allowing both bearing rings to be fitted separately.
The NJ design is used in bearing arrangements where strong radial forces and one-sided axial guidance forces are the primary loads. As a support bearing, the outer ring has two solid flanges, whilst the inner ring is designed with a single solid flange. This allows the bearing to guide the shaft in one axial direction whilst permitting a defined amount of axial displacement in the opposite direction. The optimised internal design ensures even load distribution across the raceways.
The integrated polyamide cage reduces the moving mass of the rolling element assembly and dampens vibrations during operation. The bearing is designed for a temperature range of –30 to +120 degrees. The slightly increased C3 radial clearance helps to prevent the rollers from seizing should the shaft and inner ring expand due to heat. As this design does not feature sealing washers, the lubricant supply must be provided via the housing design.
Two solid flanges on the outer ring and one flange on the inner ring define the NJ design as a thrust bearing. In addition to high radial forces, the bearing accommodates axial thrust forces in one direction, whilst allowing axial longitudinal expansion of the shaft in the other direction.
The component has a bore of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 140 mm and a width of 48 mm. The inner ring can be pulled off on one side, which makes it easier to fit the shaft and housing separately.
The designation ECP stands for an optimised internal design with adapted geometry and an injection-moulded polyamide cage. This cage design is characterised by its smooth running properties and is specified for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees.
The designation C3 indicates a slightly increased radial bearing clearance compared with the standard version. This increased clearance is recommended for tight fits and where there are temperature differences between the inner and outer rings, as it counteracts stress on the cylindrical rollers caused by thermal expansion.
The standard tolerance class P0 (PN or ABEC 1) applies to dimensional accuracy, whilst the running accuracy corresponds to the finer class P6 (ABEC 3). This combination ensures that the rollers rotate smoothly on the guideways.
As the design is open and does not feature integrated seals, the surrounding structure provides protection against particles. Sealing elements such as shaft seals or labyrinth seals prevent the ingress of dirt and keep the lubricant within the housing.
