The SKF NJ215 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 75x130x25 mm, offers high radial load-carrying capacity and axial guidance in one direction.
The NJ215 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is an open, single-row roller bearing in the Explorer design with an optimised internal structure. Thanks to the line contact between the rollers and raceways, this design can accommodate very high radial loads. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low vibration and low friction. With a bore of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm, this bearing is suitable for demanding industrial applications in mechanical engineering.
As a support bearing, this design accommodates not only high radial forces but also axial forces from one direction. In the opposite direction, the bearing allows for axial displacement, thereby compensating for changes in shaft length caused by thermal effects without inducing stress. Typical applications include shaft mountings with single-sided axial guidance and high radial loads. As the outer ring has no groove or lubrication bore, the lubricant is supplied via the adjacent structure of the bearing housing.
In the NJ design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has one flange and is removable from one side. This ability to be dismantled facilitates assembly and maintenance. The lightweight polyamide cage performs well under rapid acceleration and covers an operating temperature range from -30 to +120 degrees. With standard radial bearing clearance and increased running accuracy to tolerance class P6, the design ensures smooth and precise guidance of the rotating shaft.
The NJ design has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This enables the unit to function as a support bearing: it accommodates radial loads as well as axial guiding forces in one direction. In the opposite direction, the bearing compensates for axial changes in the length of the shaft without any displacement.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 130 mm and a width of 25 mm. The main dimensions comply with the metric standard for cylindrical roller bearings.
The suffix ‘ECP’ indicates an optimised internal design for increased load-bearing capacity. The abbreviation also stands for a polyamide cage, which guides the rollers, reduces weight and ensures low-friction operation.
The bearing is specified for continuous operation within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees. This range is largely determined by the temperature resistance of the polyamide cage and the dimensional stability of the rolling elements and rings.
This rolling bearing combines dimensional accuracy to standard tolerance P0 (equivalent to ABEC 1) with enhanced running accuracy to class P6 (equivalent to ABEC 3). This classification ensures low-vibration concentricity with standardised fit designs for housings and shafts.
As the bearing is of an open design and the outer ring has no lubrication bore, lubrication must be provided externally via the surrounding structure. Depending on the operating conditions, either grease or oil lubrication may be used, with sealing provided by external sealing elements within the housing.
