The SKF NU2205 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, with dimensions of 25x52x18 mm and a polyamide cage, offers a robust solution for purely radial load applications.
This single-row NU2205 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, as an open roller bearing, can accommodate high radial loads. The cylindrical rollers create a broad line of contact on the raceways, which increases the radial load capacity compared with point-contact bearings. SKF manufactures this version in Explorer quality with an optimised internal design. You receive a component with standard radial clearance that combines dimensional accuracy to P0/ABEC 1 with increased running accuracy to P6/ABEC 3.
Design engineers primarily use this design as a conventional non-locating bearing in shaft guides. As the inner ring has no flanges, it can be withdrawn from either side. This allows the bearing to compensate internally, with low friction, for axial length changes in the shaft caused by temperature differences. Typical applications include bearing arrangements subject to high radial loads, where axial forces are absorbed by a separate fixed bearing.
The separate assembly makes maintenance easier for you: you slide the inner ring separately onto the 25 mm shaft seat and fit the outer ring into the 52 mm housing. The integrated polyamide cage guides the rollers quietly and reduces the weight of the bearing. This open bearing, which has no sealing washers, requires external lubrication within the housing. The component is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This single-row roller bearing features cylindrical rollers that can withstand high radial forces with a linear load distribution. In the NU design, the outer ring guides the rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. The component features a lightweight polyamide cage and an optimised internal geometry in the SKF Explorer design.
The bore for the shaft seat measures exactly 25 mm. The cylindrical outer diameter is 52 mm, with a total width of 18 mm. The outer ring has no ring groove or external lubrication bore. Check these key dimensions against your design drawing before fitting.
The inner ring has no flanges and can be moved axially in both directions. If a shaft heats up and expands during operation, the bearing automatically compensates for this difference in length internally. This prevents harmful axial stresses from developing in the housing.
This letter combination denotes a redesigned internal construction with increased load-bearing capacity, as well as an injection-moulded polyamide cage. This cage guides the rollers precisely, reduces friction and operates quietly at temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
As this product is manufactured ex-works without integrated seals, the bearing housing must be sealed against the ingress of dirt. Depending on the design and speed, you should lubricate the component using a suitable industrial oil or rolling-element bearing grease in the housing chamber.
The component combines the basic tolerance P0 or ABEC 1 for the external and internal dimensions with a finer running accuracy of class P6 or ABEC 3. This combination ensures smooth concentricity with standardised fit dimensions.
