The SKF NU215 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 75x130x25 mm, serves as a separable support bearing designed to withstand high radial loads.
The NU215 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing from the SKF Explorer range with an optimised internal design. Designed as an open bearing, it transmits high radial loads directly via the line contact of the cylindrical rollers. The NU design is characterised by two fixed flanges on the outer ring, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the bearing to move axially and compensates for thermally induced changes in the length of the shaft within the housing without any binding.
This design accommodates purely radial forces during continuous rotational movement and allows for axial shaft movement. Relevant applications include industrial shaft bearings subject to thermal linear expansion. As the inner ring can be removed from both sides, this design is suitable for applications where separate installation of the inner and outer rings is required. This simplifies installation and inspection procedures in compact spaces.
The integrated polyamide cage guides the rolling elements with low vibration and keeps the weight of the rotating components to a minimum. It is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +120 degrees. This design features a standard radial bearing clearance and dimensional accuracy to Class P0/PN (ABEC 1), combined with increased running accuracy to Class P6 (ABEC 3). As the bearing is supplied without seals, and without a groove or lubrication bore in the outer ring, you can precisely tailor the lubrication and external housing sealing to the operating environment.
This single-row cylindrical roller bearing accommodates high radial loads and, thanks to its flangeless inner ring, functions purely as a non-locating bearing. The Explorer version from SKF features an optimised internal design and a lightweight polyamide cage.
The bearing has a bore of 75 mm, an outside diameter of 130 mm and a width across flats of 25 mm. These key dimensions are crucial for determining the mounting dimensions on the shaft and housing.
In the NU design, the outer ring has two fixed flanges to guide the rollers, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed from either side, which compensates for axial displacement of the shaft and simplifies separate installation.
The bearing has the standard radial clearance for standard applications. In terms of tolerances, the manufacturing process combines dimensional accuracy of class P0/PN (ABEC 1) with the higher running accuracy of class P6 (ABEC 3).
The permissible operating range is from -30 to +120 degrees. This range is essentially limited by the material of the polyamide cage, which remains dimensionally stable and elastic within this range.
As the bearing is designed without integrated seals and without lubrication holes in the outer ring, lubricant is supplied via the housing design. You should select the type of lubricant and any external protective seals to suit the on-site environmental conditions.
