The SKF NU1007 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, measuring 35x62x14 mm, can accommodate high radial loads and is used purely as a non-locating bearing.
The NU1007 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row radial roller bearing for industrial applications involving predominantly radial force transmission. In this NU design, the outer ring guides the rollers between two fixed flanges, whilst the flangeless inner ring remains removable from both sides. SKF manufactures this design with an optimised internal structure and a lightweight polyamide cage. The open bearing has standard radial clearance and operates within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
This design accommodates high radial forces and allows axial shaft expansion to be compensated for without constraint directly within the bearing. Thanks to the inner ring being slidable on both sides, the component functions as a classic non-locating bearing. Typical applications include shaft mountings in mechanical engineering where thermal length changes must be accommodated without causing axial stress. The combination of line contact between the cylindrical rollers and the polyamide cage ensures smooth running under varying operating conditions.
The suffix ECP denotes the combination of an optimised internal design and a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its low weight and contributes to a damping effect within the rolling element set. Due to the reduced inertial forces, the cage is suitable for varying speeds. When designing the bearing arrangement, the permissible continuous operating temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees Celsius must be taken into account.
The designation NU describes the flange design of the bearing rings. The outer ring has two fixed guide flanges for the rollers, whilst the inner ring has no flanges. This allows the inner ring to be removed axially from either side. The component compensates for thermal length changes in the shaft during operation and acts as a non-locating bearing.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 35 mm, an outside diameter of 62 mm and a width of 14 mm. The outer ring has no groove and no lubrication bore. Thanks to its standardised main dimensions, the roller bearing can be fitted precisely into housings and shaft seats of the corresponding size.
This roller bearing combines two defined precision grades in a single component. The dimensional accuracy corresponds to the ‘Normal’ tolerance class (P0/PN or ABEC 1), which is designed for standard fits in mechanical engineering. The running accuracy is to Class P6 or ABEC 3, which contributes to smooth concentricity.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees Celsius. The limiting factor here is the polyamide cage, which may lose its dimensional stability outside these limits. For applications with continuous operating temperatures above 120 degrees Celsius, alternative designs with metal cages may be considered.
As the bearing is manufactured without integrated sealing washers, the lubricant is supplied via the surrounding housing. Depending on the application and rotational speed, either grease or lubricating oil is suitable. An external housing seal is required to keep the lubricant within the bearing chamber and to protect the rolling bearing from contamination.
The abbreviation ECP stands for an optimised internal design combined with an injection-moulded polyamide cage. This configuration is designed to ensure favourable load distribution along the contact lines. At the same time, the lightweight cage ensures low rotating masses during continuous industrial operation.
