The SKF NUP2213 ECP cylindrical roller bearing, with compact dimensions of 65 × 120 × 31 mm, accommodates high radial loads as well as axial guidance forces on both sides.
The NUP2213 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row rolling bearing with an optimised internal design for demanding mechanical bearing applications. In the Explorer version, this open bearing combines precise roller guidance with a flexible polyamide cage. Thanks to the NUP design, the bearing arrangement acts as a fixed bearing, axially securing shafts in both directions. It is installed in enclosed housing designs with existing oil or grease lubrication.
This bearing is primarily used in bearing arrangements subject to high radial forces and axial guidance of the shaft. Thanks to the line contact between the cylindrical rollers and the raceways, the design can handle high radial loads without excessive edge pressure. At the same time, the flanges on the outer and inner rings absorb axial forces caused by alternating loads on the shaft. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees.
The NUP design features two fixed flanges on the outer ring, as well as one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. As a result, the bearing fixes the shaft in its axial position on both sides, which often eliminates the need for separate axial bearing arrangements. The polyamide cage guides the rolling elements quietly and reduces the weight of the component. The combination of standard dimensional accuracy to P0/PN (ABEC 1) and running accuracy P6 (ABEC 3) ensures low-vibration operation with standard radial bearing clearance.
The bearing has a bore diameter of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 120 mm and a width of 31 mm. These dimensions allow for a precise fit when installed in suitable shaft seats and housing bores.
The NUP design denotes a fixed bearing with two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange and one loose flange disc on the inner ring. This design guides the shaft in both axial directions and, in addition to radial loads, also accommodates axial guiding forces.
The polyamide cage maintains a precise spacing between the cylindrical rollers and prevents direct contact between the rolling elements. The material is characterised by low friction, low weight and damping properties. The permissible operating range is between -30 and +120 degrees, depending on the temperature.
Open cylindrical roller bearings do not have integrated sealing washers, which means that lubricating oil or grease from the surrounding system can reach the rollers unhindered. Protection against contaminants and moisture is provided by external sealing components in the surrounding housing structure.
The dimensional accuracy complies with class P0/PN or ABEC 1, whilst the running accuracy is manufactured to the tighter tolerance class P6 or ABEC 3. This contributes to high concentricity and reduced noise levels during operation.
Normal radial bearing clearance refers to the radially specified clearance between the rollers and the inner and outer rings when the bearing is unloaded. This clearance is designed to accommodate standard fit selections for the shaft and housing, as well as typical operating temperatures.
