The SKF NJ2213 ECP cylindrical roller bearing combines high radial load capacity with a single-sided axial guidance function, with main dimensions of 65 × 120 × 31 mm.
The NJ2213 ECP cylindrical roller bearing is a single-row roller bearing of the NJ design in the SKF Explorer series, featuring an optimised internal design. With a bore of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 120 mm and a width of 31 mm, this design is primarily intended to support very high radial loads. Thanks to two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring, the bearing serves as a support bearing. It allows axial displacement in one direction and guides the shaft in the opposite direction.
This thrust bearing is used where high radial forces act on the bearing arrangement and, at the same time, axial displacement in one direction needs to be limited. Typical applications include bearing arrangements subject to combined radial and one-way axial loads. As the inner ring can be removed from one side, the unit can be fitted in sections. This simplifies installation and maintenance in compact housings.
The lightweight polyamide cage, identified by the suffix ECP, ensures quiet operation of the cylindrical rollers. The NJ design acts as a support bearing, absorbs unidirectional axial forces and allows for unrestricted longitudinal compensation of the shaft in the opposite direction. With standard radial bearing clearance and a running accuracy of tolerance class P6, the open version is suitable for standard operating conditions within a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
With an internal diameter of 65 mm, an external diameter of 120 mm and a width of 31 mm, the assembly complies with standardised industrial dimensions. This geometric design helps to ensure even load distribution under high radial forces.
An NJ bearing has two fixed flanges on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring. This allows it to support the shaft axially in one direction, whilst compensating for thermal expansion or misalignment of the shaft in the opposite direction by means of axial displacement.
The designation ‘ECP’ refers to a polyamide cage. This material is characterised by its low weight, elastic properties and low-vibration operation. The component is designed for use in a temperature range of -30 to +120 degrees.
The roller bearing combines dimensional accuracy in accordance with tolerance class P0 (equivalent to PN or ABEC 1) with increased running accuracy in accordance with tolerance class P6 (ABEC 3). This ensures smooth rotational balance with standard fit dimensions on the shaft and housing.
As this open bearing is manufactured without integrated seals and without a groove or lubrication bore in the outer ring, grease or lubricating oil is supplied via the housing design. The area around the housing must also be protected against the ingress of dirt by means of external seals.
The standard radial bearing clearance refers to the standard radial clearance between the rollers and the raceways when no load is applied. It is designed to suit typical fit selections for shafts and housings, as well as thermal expansion during normal operation.
