The FAG 20310-TVP spherical roller bearing combines a 50 mm bore with misalignment-compensating rolling elements and a lightweight polyamide cage for demanding radial loads.
The single-row 20310 -TVP spherical roller bearing from FAG is an angular contact roller bearing designed for applications involving high radial forces and misalignment. With a bore of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 27 mm, the bearing can accommodate high radial forces. Thanks to the barrel-shaped rollers, this design automatically compensates for misalignment or shaft deflection. As an open bearing, it can be flexibly lubricated with the appropriate lubricant for the specific application.
The 20310 -TVP barrel bearing is suitable for bearing arrangements where high radial loads occur and the shaft is subject to elastic deflection. Typical applications include industrial drives and machine mountings involving shaft deflection. Thanks to the spherical outer ring raceway, the bearing automatically compensates for misalignment between the shaft and the housing without causing edge pressure on the rollers.
The suffix ‘TVP’ denotes a polyamide cage. This cage material reduces the bearing weight and promotes smooth, low-friction running of the barrel rollers. The permissible temperature range is from –30 to +120 degrees Celsius. As this is an open design with standard radial clearance (CN) and the standard tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), please ensure you include a suitable lubricant supply and external housing seals appropriate for the operating environment.
The roller bearing has an inside diameter of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 110 mm and a width of 27 mm. Please take these installation dimensions into account when designing or replacing bearings in existing housings.
The designation TVP stands for a polyamide cage. Compared with metal cages, polyamide reduces friction and the weight of the rotating components. The material ensures quiet operation of the rolling elements and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +120 degrees Celsius.
The spherical raceway in the outer ring allows the barrel-shaped rollers to adjust their orientation. If the shaft deviates from the housing axis due to deflection or assembly inaccuracies, the rolling elements move along the hollow spherical raceway. This prevents edge loading on the raceways.
This bearing has standard radial clearance (CN). Radial clearance refers to the measurable gap between the rolling elements and the raceways when the bearing is unmounted. Standard clearance is designed for standard applications with typical shaft and housing fits, as well as moderate operating temperatures.
As this bearing is manufactured without integrated sealing washers, the bearing housing requires external sealing via the machine casing. The lubricant – either roller bearing grease or gear oil – is applied directly to the raceways and rollers. Lubrication intervals and the choice of lubricant depend on the load and the ambient conditions.
The bearing complies with tolerance class P0 or PN, which corresponds to ABEC 1. This tolerance class defines the standard accuracy in terms of dimensional stability and concentricity for general mechanical engineering. It is sufficient for typical industrial requirements and conventional fit designs in operational use.
