The FAG 53212 single-direction axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed for shafts measuring 60x95x28 mm and supports high axial loads in one direction.
The FAG 53212 axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed as a separable rolling bearing to accommodate axial loads from a single direction. With an inside diameter of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 95 mm and a height of 28 mm, this model is suitable for specific installation space requirements in mechanical engineering. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along their raceways. The material used is standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), which is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 °C to +150 °C. The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (corresponding to ABEC 1).
This bearing absorbs axial forces exclusively and supports rotating shafts in one axial direction. The bearing must not be subjected to radial forces, as these must be absorbed by separate radial bearings.
Typical applications are found in industrial designs subject to purely axial loads and a dominant thrust force in one direction. As the component is manufactured from 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel, it is suitable for continuous operation under stable lubrication conditions.
The 53212 axial deep-groove ball bearing features a spherical housing washer. In conjunction with a separately available shim, this design compensates for static misalignment and angular misalignment between the shaft and housing.
The scope of supply includes the axial deep-groove ball bearing without a shim. Before fitting, check whether your housing bore is flat or shaped to accommodate a shim. For rigid, right-angled bearing seats, an additional shim is not required; however, where mating surfaces are out of alignment, it counteracts harmful edge pressures.
With a bore of 60 mm, an outside diameter of 95 mm and a total width of 28 mm, the bearing has fixed dimensions. Thanks to its separable design, the shaft washer, housing washer and ball-guided sheet steel cage can be positioned on the shaft step by step during assembly.
A spherical housing washer enables static misalignment of the axle to be compensated for. However, this compensation only works in combination with a suitable washer featuring a hollow spherical mating surface. In the case of housings with a precisely right-angled flat surface, the bearing can also be fitted directly; however, it then offers no possibility of angular self-alignment.
The geometry of the raceways is strictly aligned with force flows parallel to the axis of rotation. If radial loads occur, the rolling elements are subjected to uneven stress at the flanges, leading to immediate seizure and increased wear. Radial forces must always be accommodated in the design by means of additional radial bearings, such as deep-groove ball bearings or cylindrical roller bearings.
Components made from 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the sheet steel cage are designed for operating temperatures between -30 °C and +150 °C. Within this range, the bearing material retains its dimensional stability. To determine the actual operating limit for your application, the thermal stability of the selected grease or lubricating oil must also be taken into account.
The designation P0 refers to the standardised tolerance for industrial roller bearings, which corresponds to the US standard ABEC 1. It defines the permissible deviations in terms of dimensional accuracy and runout of the rings. This tolerance class meets the requirements of most applications in general mechanical engineering and fixture manufacturing.
The scope of supply comprises only the axial deep-groove ball bearing itself. A shim is not included. If you wish to compensate for manufacturing-related misalignment using the spherical housing washer, a shim suitable for this purpose must be provided separately and fitted into the housing seat.
