Axial Deep Groove Ball B. FAG 52207

The FAG 52207 double-acting axial deep-groove ball bearing, measuring 30x62x34 mm, guides shafts axially and accommodates axial loads from both directions.

The 52207 axial deep-groove ball bearing is a double-acting rolling bearing designed to accommodate pure axial forces from both directions. With compact dimensions of a 30 mm bore, 62 mm outside diameter and 34 mm width, this FAG roller bearing provides axial support for rotating components. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) with a sheet steel cage, the assembly is designed for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees. Due to its design, the component must not bear radial forces.

In which assemblies is the 52207 axial deep-groove ball bearing used?

This bearing is used where axial forces act alternately on a shaft, whilst radial guidance is provided by separate radial bearings. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering for shaft mountings subject to axial loads on both sides. As this version is not angularly adjustable, the design requires a contact surface on the housing and shaft that is perfectly perpendicular. This prevents unilateral edge loads on the rolling element raceways.

What distinguishes the double-acting design without a shim?

As a double-acting bearing, this design consists of a central shaft disc, two housing discs and two ball rings. This allows it to guide the shaft axially in both directions. The scope of supply includes the rolling element set only, without shims. Manufacturing is carried out to tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1. When designing the system, ensure that the connecting parts are mounted on a flat surface, as flat housing discs do not automatically compensate for misalignment or shaft deflection.

What makes the 52207 axial deep-groove ball bearing stand out?

As a double-acting roller bearing, this assembly has an inner diameter of 30 mm, an outer diameter of 62 mm and a width of 34 mm. The design accommodates axial forces from both directions and guides the shaft on both sides. The component is made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 and features a guided sheet steel cage.

What loads can the 52207 axial deep-groove ball bearing withstand?

This design is intended exclusively for axial loads. It accommodates thrust forces from both axial directions, but must under no circumstances be subjected to radial loads. If radial forces occur in your application, these must be supported by separate radial bearings, such as deep-groove ball bearings or cylindrical roller bearings, mounted on the same shaft.

What is the permissible temperature range for the 52207 axial deep-groove ball bearing?

The permissible operating temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees. The dimensional stability of the components made from 100Cr6 rolling-element bearing steel and the sheet steel cage allows for this temperature range during operation. When commissioning the unit, ensure that the selected lubricant is also specified for the temperatures encountered during operation.

Can the 52207 axial deep-groove ball bearing compensate for misalignment?

No, this version is not angle-adjustable and is supplied without spherical washers. The housing washers have a flat contact surface. Misalignment between the shaft and the housing, as well as any skew, must be avoided, as uneven load distribution can otherwise lead to localised overloading of the balls and raceways.

What is the tolerance class of this roller bearing?

The manufacture complies with tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. This denotes the standard precision for general mechanical engineering in terms of dimensional and running accuracy. For most industrial applications, this standard tolerance provides the required accuracy for shaft guidance.

What type of cage is used in the 52207 axial deep-groove ball bearing?

A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along their circular path. The cage prevents the balls from coming into contact with one another, reduces friction and noise, and maintains a uniform spacing between the rolling elements. Sheet steel offers high dimensional stability across the entire temperature range.
