The SKF 52206 axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates axial forces in both directions and has compact dimensions of 25 × 52 × 29 mm.
The 52206 axial deep-groove ball bearing is a separable rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6). This SKF component is designed for purely axial loads and supports shafts in two directions. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements in their raceways at operating temperatures between –30 and +150 degrees. With a tolerance class of P0 or ABEC 1, this bearing meets standard precision requirements in industrial mechanical engineering.
This double-acting bearing is used for the axial fixation and guidance of rotating shafts subjected to alternating axial loads. Typical applications are found in general gearbox and mechanical engineering in bearing arrangements subject to axial forces on both sides. As the design can only accommodate axial forces, this axial bearing is always combined in practice with separate radial bearings, which absorb the radial forces.
The double-acting version consists of a common shaft disc with a 25 mm bore diameter, two housing discs with an outer diameter of 52 mm, and two ball rings. The scope of supply includes the axial deep-groove ball bearing without shims. As the housing discs are flat, the bearing is not angle-adjustable. During design and assembly, therefore, precisely perpendicular contact surfaces must be provided to prevent uneven load distribution across the raceways.
The double-acting axial bearing absorbs only axial forces and guides the shaft in both directions. This type of bearing must not be used to absorb radial loads. A separate radial bearing must be incorporated into the design to absorb transverse forces.
The wave washer has a bore diameter of 25 mm. The outer diameter of the two housing washers is 52 mm, whilst the total height and width of the assembled bearing are 29 mm.
The permissible operating temperature range for this bearing is between -30 and +150 degrees. This range is determined by the dimensional stability of the 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and the sheet steel cage. When designing the bearing, the thermal limits of the lubricant used must also be taken into account.
No, this bearing is not angle-adjustable. As the housing washers have flat contact surfaces and the item is supplied without shims, the system is sensitive to misalignment between the shaft and the housing. The connecting parts must be precisely aligned at right angles.
Classification into tolerance class P0 or ABEC 1 defines standard limits for dimensional and running accuracy. This tolerance class meets the requirements of most standard industrial and mechanical engineering applications in a practical manner.
A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements and maintains a uniform spacing between them. The cage design is rated for the bearing’s entire operating temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
