The SKF 51202 axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates unidirectional axial forces in mechanical engineering applications, with dimensions of 15x32x12 mm.
The SKF 51202 single-direction axial deep groove ball bearing accommodates axial forces in one direction and provides axial support for the shaft. This rolling bearing has a bore of 15 mm, an outside diameter of 32 mm and a width of 12 mm. Manufactured from standard 100Cr6 rolling bearing steel and fitted with a sheet steel cage, the design is rated for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees. Purchasing managers and maintenance engineers utilise the standardised tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1 for precise-fit repairs and mass-production applications.
This axial deep-groove ball bearing withstands purely axial loads and guides shafts in a defined direction. The bearing must not bear radial forces, which is why designs require a separate radial guide. Typical applications include axially loaded bearing arrangements and drives in mechanical engineering. Thanks to its design without a washer, the bearing assembly can be combined directly with the flat mating surfaces of the shaft and housing shoulders.
As the 51202 axial deep groove ball bearing is not angularly adjustable, the mating surfaces on the housing and shaft must be exactly perpendicular to the axis of rotation. Otherwise, misalignment or skewing will lead to localised loads on the rolling elements, which accelerates wear. During assembly, the arrangement requires precise alignment: the shaft washer with the smaller bore rests against the shaft, whilst the housing washer is guided in the seat. Lubrication with grease or lubricating oil builds up a lubricating film in the contact area.
Single-direction axial deep-groove ball bearings accommodate axial forces from one direction only. They support the shaft on the opposite side but must not be subjected to radial forces. If additional radial loads occur during operation, a combination with separate radial bearings, such as deep-groove ball bearings or needle roller bearings, is required.
The roller bearing has an inner diameter of 15 mm at the shaft flange, an outer diameter of 32 mm and a height of 12 mm. These dimensions allow for space-saving installation in assemblies subject to axial loads in general mechanical engineering.
This specification indicates the standard tolerance for dimensional and running accuracy in accordance with international rolling bearing standards. The manufacturing accuracy of this class meets the standard requirements of industrial designs and ensures precise interaction with machined shafts and housing bores.
The 51202 axial deep-groove ball bearing is not designed to be angularly adjustable and has flat bearing rings. Angular misalignment between the shaft and the housing bore cannot therefore be compensated for. The mounting surfaces must be flat and perpendicular to the axis of rotation in order to prevent uneven load distribution and premature wear of the balls.
When using a bearing made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6 with a sheet steel cage, the permissible operating temperature ranges from -30 to +150 degrees. A lubricant must be selected for operation whose operating temperature range covers these limits and which maintains a suitable viscosity during use.
The scope of supply includes the single-acting axial deep-groove ball bearing, comprising a shaft washer, a housing washer and the ball set in a sheet steel cage. Additional washers are not included with this item. The components are designed to be separable, which facilitates separate assembly on the shaft and in the housing.
