The FAG 51126 axial deep-groove ball bearing is specifically designed to accommodate single-direction axial forces in mechanical engineering applications, with dimensions of 130 × 170 × 30 mm.
The FAG 51126 axial deep-groove ball bearing is a separable rolling bearing designed to accommodate purely axial loads from a single direction. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), this bearing has a bore of 130 mm, an outside diameter of 170 mm and a height of 30 mm. The separate assembly of the shaft ring, housing ring and ball-cage unit facilitates installation in general mechanical engineering assemblies. Users benefit from a standardised design featuring a guided sheet steel unit suitable for industrial operating conditions.
This single-direction axial bearing supports rotating shafts axially in one direction of force and is suitable for assemblies subject to purely axial forces. As the design of this bearing does not allow it to accommodate radial forces, it is combined with a separate radial bearing in the assembly. The flat design requires little axial installation space. Shafts are guided precisely, provided that the axial load acts exclusively in the direction of the housing flange.
The 51126 axial deep-groove ball bearing is not angularly adjustable and is fitted without a shim. To ensure trouble-free operation, the mounting surfaces on the housing and shaft must be exactly perpendicular to the axis of rotation. Otherwise, misalignment will lead to localised edge loading on the raceways. The integrated sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements within a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. With a tolerance class of P0/PN or ABEC 1, the component precisely meets the standard accuracy requirements of everyday industrial use.
The bearing has an inside diameter of 130 mm at the shaft flange, an outside diameter of 170 mm and a total axial width of 30 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow for direct replacement in existing assemblies. When designing the assembly, ensure that the housing flange has a bore that is slightly larger than the shaft.
A single-acting bearing accommodates only axial loads acting on the shaft flange from one direction. Radial loads must not be transmitted to this bearing. For radial forces, the bearing must be combined with a suitable radial bearing on the same shaft to prevent damage to the axial ball rows.
The 51126 axial deep-groove ball bearing does not compensate for misalignment or deflection, as it features flat contact discs without a spherical washer. The shaft and housing contact surfaces must be machined to be exactly plane-parallel and at right angles to the axis of rotation. Angular misalignment places one-sided stress on the balls and reduces the service life of the assembly.
The permissible operating range is between -30 and +150 degrees Celsius. The dimensional stability of the components made from 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel and the pressed steel sheet cage is maintained within this range. Select a lubricant suitable for the ambient temperatures of your plant to support the formation of a lubricating film during operation.
P0 or PN denotes the standard tolerance in accordance with international standards and corresponds to the ABEC 1 classification. This accuracy class fully meets the standard requirements of the mechanical and plant engineering sectors in terms of dimensional, geometric and running accuracy. For applications with standard market fits, this class offers a good balance between precision and cost-effective assembly.
The sheet steel cage keeps the balls at a uniform distance apart and prevents the rolling elements from coming into contact with one another whilst in motion. It is characterised by its low weight and can withstand temperatures of up to 150 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the open cage design allows sufficient space for lubricating greases or oils to penetrate and circulate.
