The FAG 52214 axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates axial forces from both directions and has dimensions of 55 × 105 × 47 mm.
The 52214 axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed as a double-acting rolling bearing to accommodate pure axial loads from both directions. The construction comprises a central shaft ring, two housing rings and two sets of balls with a sheet steel cage. The components are made from standard rolling-element bearing steel 100Cr6 and are designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees.
This rolling bearing is used for the precise axial guidance of shafts subject to alternating thrust forces in both directions. As axial deep-groove ball bearings, by design, cannot accommodate radial forces, the bearing arrangement must be combined with separate radial bearings. The separable design facilitates assembly, as the shaft ring, housing rings and ball cages can be fitted one after the other.
The double-acting design secures components axially in both directions but does not compensate for misalignment. As the flat housing washers are not angularly adjustable, the contact surfaces on the housing and shaft must be precisely perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The scope of supply includes the axial deep-groove ball bearing without shims. The bearings are manufactured to the standard tolerance class P0/PN or ABEC 1.
The bearing absorbs axial forces from two directions and supports the shaft on both sides. It has a bore of 55 mm, an outer diameter of 105 mm and a width of 47 mm, and is made from standard roller bearing steel 100Cr6.
Axial deep-groove ball bearings of this type are designed exclusively to support axial loads. If additional radial forces occur during operation, the bearing arrangement must be combined with separate radial bearings on the same shaft.
The permissible operating range is from -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. The dimensional stability of the components made from roller bearing steel and the integrated sheet steel cage cover this thermal operating window.
The bearing has flat housing washers and is not angle-adjustable. The contact surfaces on the housing and shaft must be machined at right angles to the axis of rotation in order to prevent edge stresses and uneven loads on the rolling elements.
The bearing is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to the ABEC 1 standard. This standard tolerance provides the usual running accuracy and dimensional accuracy required for industrial machinery and plant engineering.
A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements of both sets of balls evenly along the raceways. The cage keeps the balls at a distance from one another and helps to minimise friction.
