The FAG 51305 axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates unilateral axial loads with a 25 mm bore, 52 mm outer diameter and 18 mm overall height.
The 51305 axial deep-groove ball bearing guides shafts axially and accommodates high axial forces from one direction. This FAG rolling bearing is made from standard rolling bearing steel (100Cr6) and features a dimensionally stable sheet steel cage. With compact main dimensions of 25 mm inner diameter, 52 mm outer diameter and a width of 18 mm, the bearing unit can be integrated into assemblies in a space-saving manner. The design complies with standard tolerance P0/PN or ABEC 1 and is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees.
This rolling bearing is suitable for designs where purely axial forces need to be supported in one direction. However, the bearing must not bear purely radial loads; for this reason, users usually combine this component with separate radial bearings. Typical applications are found in general fixture and machinery manufacturing, where rotating components are fixed in a purely axial direction. The guided sheet steel cage keeps the rolling elements spaced apart and ensures smooth running characteristics during continuous industrial use.
As the 51305 axial deep-groove ball bearing is not angularly adjustable, it is sensitive to misalignment between the shaft and the housing. It is essential that the contact surfaces of the housing and shaft flange are exactly perpendicular to the axis of rotation in order to avoid edge stresses. The scope of supply includes the axial deep-groove ball bearing without a washer. You should therefore design the connecting parts to be sufficiently flat and rigid. To ensure trouble-free operation, a minimum axial load must always be applied so that the balls roll smoothly within the cage.
The 51305 axial deep-groove ball bearing has an inner diameter of 25 mm, an outer diameter of 52 mm and a height or width of 18 mm. These standardised key dimensions allow for direct replacement in existing assemblies. Before fitting, check the available installation space on the shaft and housing to ensure the dimensions are suitable.
This bearing design is single-acting and is designed to support only axial forces from a defined direction. The bearing must not be subjected to any radial loads. If combined forces occur during operation, this axial bearing is usually combined with a separate radial bearing to absorb the transverse loads.
The permissible temperature range is from -30 to +150 degrees. Both the standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6) and the integrated sheet steel cage are designed to withstand these thermal conditions. To ensure reliable operation within this range, the lubricant used – such as grease or lubricating oil – must be suited to the specific operating temperature.
The 51305 axial deep-groove ball bearing is not angularly adjustable and cannot compensate for misalignment or shaft deflection caused by the mounting. The contact surfaces on the shaft and housing must be machined so that they are exactly perpendicular to the axis of rotation. If alignment is inaccurate, there is a risk of uneven edge loads on the balls, which accelerates premature wear.
This classification describes the standard tolerance for dimensional and running accuracy in industrial roller bearings. It defines manufacturing dimensions relating to the bore, outer diameter and radial run-out. For conventional mechanical engineering, tolerance class P0 offers a balanced fit for standardised fits on shaft seats and bearing housings.
The sheet steel cage maintains a precise spacing between the rolling elements and prevents the balls from coming into direct contact with one another. It is characterised by high mechanical stability whilst being lightweight. Furthermore, the material retains its dimensional stability throughout the specified temperature range and facilitates continuous lubrication of the rolling elements.
