The SKF 53310 single-direction axial deep groove ball bearing is designed to support pure axial loads in one specific direction on shafts with a diameter of 50 mm.
The SKF 53310 axial deep groove ball bearing is designed for applications where single-direction axial forces occur. As an open rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6), it guides rotating shafts axially and withstands operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +150 degrees. This model features a spherical housing disc, which can compensate for shaft misalignment. A guided sheet steel cage keeps the balls in their raceway. The scope of supply includes the bearing without a washer.
The 53310 axial deep groove ball bearing is designed to support pure axial forces from a single direction on shafts with a diameter of 50 mm. Due to its design, this type of bearing cannot support radial forces. It is used in designs where axial thrust occurs and one-sided axial support of the rotating shaft is required.
The housing washer in this version has a spherical end face. In combination with a suitable spherical shim, the bearing compensates for misalignment or manufacturing-related angular errors between the shaft and the housing. Without the correct shim, the bearing does not make full contact. Before installation, it is advisable to check the housing shape so that the appropriate shim can be fitted if necessary.
Manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1), this component offers a defined level of precision for mechanical engineering. As the bearing is of an open design, the design must incorporate an external seal and a lubrication system suitable for an operating temperature range of between -30 and +150 degrees.
The bearing has a bore of 50 mm, an outside diameter of 95 mm and a total width of 34.3 mm. These dimensions correspond to the standardised dimensions for axial deep-groove ball bearings of this size. Before fitting, check the fit of the shaft washer and the spherical housing washer.
This model is designed to be single-acting. It absorbs axial forces from one direction only and supports the rotating shaft on that side. The bearing must not be subjected to radial loads. Separate radial bearings must be incorporated into the design for combined load conditions.
The bearing features a spherically curved housing disc. In conjunction with a spherical washer to be fitted separately, the bearing aligns itself automatically within the housing. This allows for the compensation of misalignments and manufacturing-related alignment errors between the shaft and the housing wall.
The scope of delivery comprises only the 53310 axial deep-groove ball bearing, without a shim. If your design is intended to compensate for angular misalignment, please order the appropriate shim separately. To compensate for misalignment, the spherical housing washer requires a corresponding hollow spherical mating surface in the housing or on the washer.
The bearing washers and rolling elements are made of standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). A dimensionally stable sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly along the ball raceway. An permissible temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees is specified for this material combination.
The component is manufactured to tolerance class P0/PN, which corresponds to ABEC 1. This class defines the standard dimensional and running accuracy for industrial use and is compatible with the usual fit tolerances in general mechanical and plant engineering.
